    proud of my girls!

Wanted to share about our little bicycle jog this morning. I've been bicycle joggin my girls for awhile now :), the last week or so i've been concentrating on teaching them to ride in a more 'confined' space - not all in the open on the side of the road. teaching them how to relax when we have to ride close to something like a fence, or mail boxes - all in preparation to someday venture out off of our own street.  Today was that day, they got their booties put on because I ALWAY see glass and other 'crap' out in the bicycle lane. I've also been making them slow down, I constantly have to ride the brakes because they want to go fast- I want to teach them to relax & not run - becuase they never know how far we might be going - endurance :) Plus there only a few places where they can run  - becuase of the lack of grass/dirt on my road.

Took them down my street once to warm them up, then went to the end of the road & I watched traffic - deciding whether or not this would be  good morning. It slowed down & we were off!!  we're not speedy by any means lol.  I think we were doing about 5mph, a nice relaxed trot. Slowed down at the overpass - both Akyra & Bella hopped up on to the sidewalk & I stayed in the bicycle lane.

Took the first street, then came back & crossed the main street & cruised through a new housing area.  Got some pretty interesting looks, my neighbors are used to my 'wackiness' ( but then again i'm one of only two people on the whole entire street that actually takes their dogs for a walk!)

Got some smiles from little kids in their mom's mini vans on the way to school.  The girls' booties pit-patting rhythmically on the pavement.  Even jogged by some houses that had some pretty loud dogs - but the girls stayed focus on their adventure.

I was so proud of them, they behaved just like i wanted.  I think they really enjoyed the change of scenery.

    thanks for reading!

Don't you just love it when a plan works out the way you hoped for?  Good girls for staying focused and ignoring distractions.

i need to rig up some sort of camera mount on my bicycle so I can get some vids of them. I have a quick pod, but i'd rather have both hands on the handlebars :)
