Bad to worse...

    Bad to worse...

I work in Information Technology at a college.  To say this has been a typical Monday is an understatement.  First of all, yesterday the UPS that's in front of all our server equipment caught fire, so ironically this device that exists to prevent even a nanosecond of power interruption failed and all servers powered off, there was a fire.  So this morning several things are not working.  Then, ALL the printing servers have to be restarted.  I get back from lunch to find my desk phone dead - the phone system's hard drive died and ALL phones were down for several hours.  Now, my uber-boss says there's an outbreak of norovirus on campus, dorms are being quarantined, our department is handing out Clorox wipes like candy on Halloween...

You vomit for 12-24 hours.  Can get very dehydrated if not careful.

I had the norovirus a couple of years ago, and it is HORRIBLE.  I ended up having to go to hospital because I was so badly dehydrated, I couldn't even stand up on my own, someone had to have one of my arms at all times to help me walk.  it was rough.  I am always worried around this time of year, because i don't think i could handle having it again

Lies - I heard about the outbreak in Grand Rapids, I completely forgot about you over there.  OMG.  I know they shut down a whole college campus this weekend - no one in/no one out.  Very scary stuff.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

No your not, I thought the same thing when I read the OP. I thought to myself, why would clorox help a computer virus? I just assumed something with hands touching keyboards lol...then I waited to read a bit more.

Lisa the big outbreak was at Hope in Holland.  Late last week they cancelled a tourney they were hosting that we were in, cancelled classes.  Today someone said we had cases on campus, but then we got an SOS e-mail saying nothing confirmed.  However when I left work and walked through the main computer lab, every row of computers had Clorox wipes sitting every few feet, lol.  I Cloroxed my cubicle but it needed it anyway.

You have to actually touch norovirus (poo and puke) to get it, it's not an airborne thing thank goodness.  A few years ago, a girl on another board posted that her roommate had it so bad they had to carry her to the ER to get hydrated, then she stayed with her all weekend, never got sick.
