    We have a mouse situation.....yuck!

I think we have a mouse under our stove and I don't like that one bit. Yes I can stand almost anything but I DO NOT LIKE MICE! The thing is I don't know how to tell for sure there is one. We have two cats that go in and out of the house and I have noticed that Kiddles would sit in front of the stove and look under it or paw at it. I haven't seen nothing else but Kiddles sudden interest for looking under the stove. My mother wants my dad to take the stove out and see whats there but my dad has been really busy lately and hasn't got the time plus the thing is heavy and my uncle works till night. Is there a way to tell for sure there is a mouse under there? I am paranoid!

Lay on the floor with a flash light and look under it.

It could be water bugs, you in eastern NC so dont rule them out. We've got water bugs in our house a lot and Taz trys to kill them because they run....its funny to watch!

That is like asking me to commit suicide......

My uncle looked down there yesterday, he said there was nothing there but I think otherwise!

Usually you will see droppings in places like pantry floor, cabinets and other places the little critters like to wander.  Small, black pellets about the size of a very, small pea but a more elongated shape.

Maybe a piece of food fell under the stove.  My dogs will try for hours until I get something and fish out whatever is under there. LOL

I don't like mice either, it's the whole running up your leg thing that gets me going.  We get mice at work in the winter because of the big drainage area behind our shop; the mice come in to find a nice warm home for winter.  Drives my JRT nuts. We set out traps but I make someone else dispose of the poor little things. We have a live trap up here for the bigger varmints that show up. Do they make a tiny live trap?  Going to go look that up.

They do make little live traps.  They are about $15.00 plus shipping.  But you may prefer to see them dead and not care if they are really kind of cute and mean you no harm.  I'm just kidding you!!  I laughed when I read you would rather commit suicide than look under the stove!  Just keep your feet up off the floor till the menfolk get home and check it out.

LOL! Guess you wont be coming to visit us anytime real soon,  We have always had a stray mouse or 2 about this time of year since we live in the country.  However; this year they are taking over.....yech!  I dont like them but when your in the country there are things you just have to deal with.   Hubby doesnt care for cats so its up to Rocky to be the mouser...he is pretty good too.   We dont use live traps, its best just to get them gone.   We have had such a bad time of it this year, hubby saw a black snake the other day so maybe he will get them  before they come in.

I actually don't mind them if they are 1 mile away from me and I can't see them. My sister thinks they are CUTE....yuck! I would keep my feet off the floor if my brother, sister, and uncle would stop picking on me and yelling "there goes the mouse".......just plain cruel!

I think I will go to my sister's godparents house and borrow their ACD Tucker, he will search and kill mice on command! lol

he could have just batted a toy under there - my cats do it all the time... they get them under the fridge too. silly kitties.

I think you would  notice more signs if you had mice.... JMO =]

We have mice from time to time. Actually, they are cotton rats. Anyway, I can't leave out snap traps or poison because of the pets. However, both pets are mouse hunters.

Kiddles hunts too and that is why I have the idea that there is a mouse under the stove! Thats why I told my mom that when they move the stove to close all doors and let the two cats be there just in case something comes from there running.

If it's a gas stove/oven, like ours, the mice are getting in where the gas line comes in. One solution, if you can reach that hole, is to stuff steel wool in there. They can't get through that. It's humane and keeps them out.

Our house is pier and beam foundation and the gas line comes up from underneath. I can't quite reach the hole. I need to get one of those grabber things and use it to block up the hole.

I have to say my cats are great mousers!  No mice in my house!  I live right next door to a small farm and have ponds and woods all around me but those little bugger do not come in my house - thank god! There outside becasue I find presents left at my door all the time, especially this time of year when the temp is changing.  We have seen some rats under the shed too but thankfully they stay out of my house.

In our old house a mouse go in and me, DH, his friend and my DD chased the thing all over my livingroom, flipping couches and chairs it was really a funny moment.  Finally our friend nailed him under the TV cabinet.Surprise

    Good luck.

One time, we had a mouse in the house. Jade alerted first. Then, DW was trying to bang the sofa to scare it out, Shadow was darting about trying to get a scent. I was lifting one end of the 8 foot sofa to uncover. DW pinned the mouse tail with something and Shadow got it. Then I had him drop it and gave him a treat for doing so. The mouse, I think, died of fright. I disposed of the body. It was a family affair but reminded me of Keystone Kops.
