Cat poop

    Cat poop

I dont know where to put this ad I figured might as well put this here since it'll get more activity.

Joker wont stop eating the cat poop!! It's driving me NUTZ!!!Super Angry And to add to me going crazy and hunting for cat poop in the yard Lillie has started picking up Joker's bad habit of wanting to eat it too. Ick! She never touched it until he came along.

Now I know they have that stuff you put in dog food that makes dogs quit eating their own poop. Can I put it in the cats food?

Rascal's also a great cat poop aficionado. Can't you just move the litterboxes somewhere non-dog-accesible?

    • Gold Top Dog

I have no idea if you could put it in the cat's food.  I never owned a dog that didn't just love cat poo.  Good luck!  And they like to roll in it sometimes for the wonderful, lasting perfume that makes all the other dogs jealous.LOL

No idea if you can use that stuff on cats!

I do share your pain though - with both of mine.  Ick!

The cats are outside cats. They use the edge of the woods for a bathroom which makes me happy because I wont be stepping in it there BUT Joker cant help himself to some for a snack. Now he has Lillie doing it and I cant take it anymore!! It's so gross. They think Im gonna let them kiss me after a mouthful of poop. NO THANKS!!

Oh yeah Lillie loves to roll in a fresh pile of cow poop. I have that nipped in the butt though. I know where the cow poop is!!

Think if I make outside litter boxes the cats will use it? That way I know where it's at and be able to dispose of it?

in my limited experience with outdoor cats ( indoor only for me), once they start going outside, they won't use the litter box.

I've got cats outside too and Willow does the same thing.  I'm actually considering muzzling her to go out.

Lol that's a great idea!! Then Joker couldnt eat the poop OR torture Tonka the kitten. Hmm is that cruel that I am actually thinking about that?Surprise

    torture Tonka the kitten.

That's another reason.  The young kitten loves Willow, seriously infatuated--despite the warning growls and snarling.  She comes up on the deck and lays on her pillows, drinks out of her water bowl.  Lately, she's waiting at the door for her.Indifferent  I noticed the mom is all black, I wonder if she thinks Willow is her mother???  She is sort of cat like, LOLBig Smile

Have you watched "It's Me Or The Dog"? She delt with a similar issue on one of the episodes.....try teaching a "leave it' command to them.

I can't find it on youtube, but it was a good episode....

I have been trying to teach him to leave it. He grabs and runs though.

    Sam too =[

    I think he knows that I can't catch him....lol

If anyone finds a way to get dogs to quit eating poop you'll be my hero.  Ari has always eaten deer poop (loves to roll in it too) and jsut recently started eating dog poop, and she's gotten ahold of cat poop before (from outside cats).  She darn well knows leave it, but I have yet to find a high enough value treat that will make her listen to me when it comes to that gourmet treat of poop.

I can usually see the dog poop before she gets that - deer and cat poop is harder.  YUCK.  I brush her teeth before I'll even contemplate letting her give me any puppy kisses.

Think someone should make a treat that smells and taste like poop but isnt poop!!! Maybe that will work then.

Joker loves food. He is very food and toy motivated. BUT nothing is better than a mouthful of cat poop.Ick!

yet another good reason to keep cats indoors. Casey used to try and sneak in the litter boxes, but a quick HEY from me scared him enough to keep his little nose out of there.

You could try to litter train an outside cat, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Cats like to bury their potty. Which is why you always need a cover on your sandbox.............
