Both the SO and I were thinking that at best, Ari would terrorize humans and dogs alike but we'd get to stay - both of us had the thought that we might be asked to leave :) However, Ari did fantastic. Sending out appeasement signals to the other dogs, playing with a few others. The english bull dog she couldn't quite figure out - and he spooked her with his barking. Unfortunately there was one golden there who insisted on humping Ari to no end (we pulled him off) and she wasn't happy about that (had a sad look on her face like would someone please get him off me!?) But she did really well! She only jumped all over one person there who was sitting on the floor and encouraging this type of behavior (unfortunately as we are working on having her STOP doing that). She got tuckered out pretty early, and plopped herself down by us with a silly grin on her face and her eyes as bright as can be. The trainer monitoring the session picked a tick off of her though which surprised me (he found it while she was sucking up to him by being on her best behavior lol).
There were 5 dogs there including Ari (a lab, golden, english bull dog, and a rottie - the golden and the bull dog were males). I was a little dismayed someone brought treats, b/c Ari did a rude thing by nudging the womens treat pouch, but thankfully she didn't do anything further than that. Last thing Ari needs is more food now (we were having such a problem keeping enough weight on her, but now she's at a good weight heading towards putting on a couple extra pounds - so we scaled back her food just a tad, I like keeping her on the skinny side).
I'm so proud of her! She really got along well with all the others (canine and human alike) and had a good time. Today she is being a LAZY girl - she currently snoozing at the foot of the stairs. Then again maybe our little mishaps at the river contributed to that (let's just say she got out of my control dove into the water with her leash STILL on and got tangled up, so I went in for a dip myself jeans and sweatshirt and all - can't say I don't love the little bugger - and THANKFULLY we don't live far from the river, though with wet clothing in early November it sure did seem like it).
