Parentstuff-How's this for funny?

Lily brought me a stuffed critter of hers a couple days ago..it's eye fell off, major tragedy...her stuffies are like her kids mmkay?

So she's sobbing and such and I look and it's one of those hard plastic flat surface eye and it's "snapped" off the post which holds it into the animals erm..skull. No way to sew it and I suck with thread anyhow...

SO...brilliant idea...I had the glue gun unearthed as I was working on Cleo's costume this week, so I sez..."no problem kiddo...I'll hot glue the eye back on"...

Didn't get to it yesterday...but today DONE. I am bringing them inside today after school waiting for her to notice to collect my hugs and "THANK YOU MOMMY!"...

She see's the thing on the counter...grabs it...looks into it's (TWO!) eyes and starts BAWLING!!!

WTHeck??? "I fixed it!!!" I said...baffled...
Lily said..."YOU PUT IT'S EYE ON UPSIDE DOWN! WAAAAAAAH"...and runs off...sobbing....

Oh lordy...I did..I didn't even LOOK...the frickin thing looks like Cleo...all crazy eyed one pupil up one down...oh dang. I can't get it off, either...

Man....the moral is..."always check the pupils on an animal before you sew it's eye back on"....

Could you snap the OTHER eye off and glue that one on upside down as well?

LOL If it's any consolation, Gina, the hot glue won't hold for long, so you 'll be able to fix it. Use Crazy or Gorilla Glue next time and it'll never come off. Big Smile

heck no...she needs to get over it LOL. I told her it's special now, and if she doesn't want him he can sleep with ME at night...it's currently on the computer desk here giving me crazy eyes.

She's "thinking about it"...I am not having this "if it's not perfect I don't want it" stuff lol. Plenty of kids don't even have any stuffies and I told her so...

But for now I have a new bedmate...I should take his picture...he's cute!

I was JUST like her! When I was 7-ish my favorite bear lost an eye completely(he was one that my great grandmother gave me, and she was very sick at the time, she died when I was 8) I cryed for days and then my Mom told me basicly the same thing you told your daughter.....his name was changed within a week from Snowy to Mr. Winky -- please mind I was about 7-ish LOL

That stuffie looks so cute! I like it's wacky-eye!

I am very protective of my stuffies. Have been since I was a kid. lol... so I know how she feels. Wink

I was at a carnival thing once and tried really hard to win a game they had and I finally did. I didn't get one of the cool stuffed animals hanging up on the walls though, I got some stuffed ball thing with eyes. I was so mad, I beat up that thing. I punched it and stepped on it and even threw it in the trash. Then I began to feel bad for it and I rescued it, took it home and cleaned it up. I was like, 10, I think. So pretty young. I don't think I have that one anymore but I have a whole big tub full of stuffed toys that I'm waiting to dole out to nieces and nephews. lol....

Exactly 100% spot-in Jano.

I seriously had left the glue gun on too long and when I grabbed it it was SMOKIN. I was being super careful and didn't take my eye off it. Add to that Cleo right there goosing me because the gun smelled interesting..

I dunno...seen one stuffie seen em all, I just didn't realize he wasn't supposed to look like that LOL.
