    Ruffwear Approach Pack II??

Anyone have this and have an opinion of its size and functionality??

I've seen the new version and discovered that the new one is more compact but out of my price range.  The Approach Pack II is on clearance pretty much everywhere but I can't decide on what size to get.

The pack we have is too big and the webmaster harness is slightly too big so I am leaning towards a medium

This is the one I bought from Dog.com for Shadow its affordable and held up very well.  I still have it and am going to try to start using it on Hot Shot.   http://www.dog.com/item/the-quick-release-dog-backpack/

I love mine, not sure which version it is.  If you like the Webmaster, you will like this.  It's saddle bags on a Webmaster.  I know some people hate how the Webmaster goes on though.

Thanks Lies - I think that is the new version, at least that is the one at REI.  I love the webmaster but it is a bit too big and only a bit - sort of too long if that makes sense.  I'm slightly worried that with the same fit it tha packs would be a touch too far down his back.  I'll probably order the large and return it if necessary.  I struggle to imagine that he needs a medium.

And thank you Kenya you modeled it wonderfully - you should do an add for Ruffwear ( I think you should email it to customer service) It looks fantastic on her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I have the exact same problem with fit and so do other GSD people.  She could fit within the range of a small as far as the strap adjustments, but then the saddle bags, or the top of the Webmaster itself are too small.  We use mediums for both.  The belly straps are fine, but the Y-straps on the chest are as tight as they go and still a bit loose, so like you say I think the pack fits a little too far back.  Usually she only carries poop bags, her treats, and my cell phone so having all the weight on the shoulder is not as important.  I'm hoping to have my handy little sis adjust the Y-straps on both so it's tighter and pulls it forward.

Yup that's our problem although the belly strap is loose too - the chest strap fits perfect Big Smile

I was really hoping that REI had this model in stock and I would have bought it to try on - I struggle to imagine that medium is going to fit.  His girth is at the max on the medium sizing, decisions decisions...

now i'm back to leaning towards medium - but worried that the Y-strap will be too small which isn't fixable. ahhhhhhhhhhh

ah poo!  I got the medium and it is the right length and the belly is fine but we are about 4 inches too short in the chest.  I'm going to call Ruffwear because it said it was supposed to be for 36" girth and when I measure him he is 36".

    Back to the drawiing board......................
