Need the Link Lady!!!

Sorry, I can'r remember who has all of the info links, sooner or jen(the beagle lady?) maybe?? But anyway, I need some links on water/walrus pups, info and causes, remedies and prevention, for a debate on another board. They are trying to tell everyone that it ONLY occurs in mastiff breeds, is that right? I was under the conclusion that it could occur in any breed and was related to sodium intake and fluid retention(sp)?
Anyone feel free to chime in with info for me if I'm wrong.

My Beagle Susie had a water pup in her first litter....TWICE the size of the other pups. She gained a lot of weight during that pregnancy...18lbs pre and 30lbs day of delivery.

This time I managed her via the Bulldog people's method...exercise, no salt diet(never switching to puppy food!), limited water...prepreg weight 19lbs....DOD...23lbs or therabouts...NO water pup this time. It can happen in other breeds but is most common in Bullydogs and I've seen it in Bullmastiffs as well, and of course...my Beagle

I don't have anything on that subject, but I *think* Gina (rwbeagles) has personal experience with water puppies.
