    what a cool/different looking boy!

he's close...... if only we had room!

    • Gold Top Dog

He looks like a bundle of fun. I bet the name Turbo is aptly descriptive.

I agree.....there was a dog at CCAC that I wanted....he was tan with a black muzzle and a white quarter-sized spot in between his eyes!

That pup is uber cute! Turbo....I think that name would suit him very well!!

    • Gold Top Dog

    Oh, he's aDORable!

    • Gold Top Dog

    He's too cute!

I can't go on Petfinder.  DH would shoot me if I came home with another dog..

Oh he is pretty cool looking!

I dont' go on petfinder much as I find it too overwhelming LOL  Lately I've been rooting through the German shorthair pointer rescue sites in addition to the great dane and weimaraner rescues and my SPCA site.

My current dog that I need is "levi" from this site link  Burn is pretty cool too

    • Gold Top Dog

Ohh... Levi is a handsome boy!

I don't go on petfinder often.....but I've been finding myself checking craigslist more often... don't know why....

I like his tongue,it looks huge!Stick out tongue I've been spending alot of time on Petfinder too and so apparently has my husband because there are always a bunch of dogs under "previously viewed pets" that I know I didn't look at.

I check craigslist and petfinder daily.....craigslist because I'm looking for a bike and a kennel, but I always look at the pup's too! I want another dog, but I have to wait until I get my own job.....my parents would prefer me to have a house of my own before I add another dog too. So, I probably won't get another until I'm about half-way thru college. *sigh* So, I'll be getting another dog at 18-19....maybe.

Oh gosh that is too depressing - most of the breed rescues don't get to me but the Mid atlantic great dane rescue has me in tears everytime.  Looking now they have 95 danes   Many have awful injuries or have had horrible trauma. - just makes me so sad. OK enough of that

Oh gosh, I only saw the first Dane when I knew I could look thru them without crying.....

    • Gold Top Dog

Wow, he does look exactly like a Border Collie/Corgi mix!

Karen, Levi is adorable!  I'm partial to Chase though...

And I hate to see you cry more or make you sadder but there are homes in my area that would welcome some of these 95 dogs.  Any two for me but my heart goes to Clark, Goliath, and Stanley.  I have contacted MAGDR and so has my rescue group.  They will not make an exception to the rule

"The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc. adopts to the following states only: MD, DE, WASH DC., VA, NORTHERN W. VA, NC, UPSTATE SC, NJ, SOUTH CENTRAL PA, EASTERN PA, NY. If you live in an area outside our adoption area and are interested in adoption you can find additional rescues groups at the Great Dane Club of America. Because of our home check requirement, we do not adopt out of the areas mentioned above. Please contact your area coordinator if you are interested in adopting."

Unless I am not finding it, I have never seen another GD rescue with so many Great Danes.

Dave I always think of you when I see the deaf ones - I must admit that Clark and Stanley are just adorable!

And I know you have said before that they won't adopt out of region and therefore you can't - I wonder if they would send a dog to a different rescue?  And yes they ALWAYS have 80+ dogs.  This is the most I've seen and even those healthy pups have been up for a while - I think that with the economy as it is and so many housing problems adopting out giant dogs will be even more difficult.  That is not to say that all rescues aren't struggling but so many of these danes seem to be owner turn ins when they get too much to feed, vet, handle.  Makes me want to scream
