Since I always complain about him............... (Bugsy)

LOL I thought I'd post an example of how his (over)confidence can be an asset:

We were just out on the bike and he was running at a good speed about a mile and a half into our 'run' and something got stuck in the wheel of my bike and the rear wheel locked up - completely Surprise

This led to a noisy crash (on grass) - no damage to either of us - I cleaned the rear wheel of the intrusion (a stick located in just the wrong spot) and off we went.  Even I was shocked when he showed NO wariness, I mean he was attached to the bike as I was attempting to land soft.  I picked the mud and grass off his harness and the bike and all he was concerned about was getting going again and sniffing around because that is a spot that is frequented by deer and a favorite sniffing spot of his.

Fortunately the rest of the ride was uneventful Big Smile if VERY cold

Fortunately my brother and I spent our childhoods immitating Evil Knieval so I have well-honed bike crashing skills Angel

Our neighborhood has no sidewalks or curbs with large lots and the houses are set back so grass is everywhere Big Smile

I'm so glad that neither of you were hurt or scared!

I've taken Morrison out with the bike a few times but I'm still a little nervous as I don't have any Evil Kneival practise.

Embarrassed...I'm very happy you weren't hurt and that Bugsy was such a good boy!

Way to go Bugsy!  He's just in training for when he'll be carting sheep down the road here!  You have to have a cool head for road work, you know.

I'm really glad no one was hurt, yikes.  Be careful!  And stay warm,

It is quite embarrassing now as an adult but my brother and I really did some INSANE things on or perhaps, with, is a better word, our bikes.   Not sure how my mom survived but what I can say is that I am an expert at bike crash safety LOL Embarrassed

I really was amazed that after nearly killing him as he was on my left and we fell to the left he was so unconcerned and just wanted to get on with it.  It really was one of those times I was glad he is so hard to upset Stick out tongue

Becca he is sooo ready for cart pulling - me however had best not be the 'pilot'.  He ran nearly the whole way today - he didn't want to trot - and after we finished, just over 3 miles he wasn't even winded.  I however had to straighten my handlebars and clean off the bike

That bUgsy has nerves of steel and so do you!  Glad you both weren't hurt.  I would love to bike with one of the dogs (doG forbid 2 dogs).  But, I just know somebuddy would wrap themselves around me somehow or another.  I tried my hand at roller skating on my road a couple of years ago with Buddy alone.  That was ok, but our road is not smooth, so it was not really fun.  But, the one time we got wrapped up in each other and I fell...that was all she wrote.  Skates are gathering dust in the closet.

Keep riding your bike with your sidekick and I will live vicariously through you.  Big Smile

LOL, how cute.  I'm picturing the crash, him getting up, giving a shake and looking like OK, what's the hold up???  (Imagine if the bike had broke, he would of been bummed!)

That was it in a nutshell - mean while I felt like a quarterback that had just been sacked and picking the turf out of my face mask

When I started to go again I noticed the handlebars had rotated a bit and thought oh no we may have to walk back - but I just rode it with the handlebars facing about 60* right ha ha

That brings back memories. When I was 9, I had a biker club (albeit, pedal bicycles.) Ron's Rough Riders, believe it or not. We used to jump curbs and grade changes in the parking lot. I tried to make a fast getaway one time and crashed and skinned my left knee. I developed water on the knee and that knee has been weak since then. The price we pay for the freedom of two wheels.

ah curb jumping one of our favorites - we used to build ramps (big ones) and also had a really neat game of who could fly over the handlebars further - shaking head - we both have all our teeth and honestly I don't recall any significant injuries from any of our bizarre antics.  Another fun one was who could do the longest skid - this led to many broken brakes Hmm  God bless my mom no idea how she survived our childhood LOL

I did that one, too. I never broke the brake but I wore out some tread. I still get away with it now and then. At work, I have a John Deere Gator (utility vehicle some what like an over grown go cart.) Anyway, on dry dirt on pavement, if you get a good enough turn and put on the brakes (they lock up easily on the one I am using) you can get a pretty good spin out. I found that out by accident one day, having to slow down in a hurry. I did about a 170 degree spin. That's almost too much fun on the company time.
