The Siberian Husky. Strikingly beautiful, with awesome speed, it is, for it's size and weight, one of the fastest, strongest dogs in the world. Bred for over 1,000 years to pull hard and run fast in the harshest conditions on the planet, with average winter temps of -70 F, on very little food. Unloaded, the can run between 30 and 40 mph with a low profile double suspension gait. And intelligent and a bit prone to not listen. They must have this to a degree in order to spot a problem on a trail before the human can spot it and avert an accident. Yet, of gentle, human-loving temperment, it slept with the children of the village, being both a pillow and a protector. As a breed, it retained less neotenous features. It's ears are usually erect, it howls more than it barks, retains much of the wolf coloring and markings, with the exception of pie-bald in some. They will work themselves to exhaustion if you let them. Loyal, with a huge heart, and there's no day that's too cold.
