Migraines....

I feel your pain everyone. I don't get migraines, but I'm on my twelth day straight of headachesville. Not sure what the cause is or why it won't go away. I often take something with codeine in it, but it tends to trigger rebound headaches, so I only take it if I can't function and bed is not an option. I have some hardcore prescription pain killers, but I avoid them like the plague because they knock me out and when I wake up I usually have really bad stomach pains. My headaches often coincide with my period, but they are so common place it's hard to draw a cause and effect line. I honestly think most of it is stress, but have been meaning to get my eyes checked. For a while there I was squinting at my computer screen, but I since turned the brightness down and I don't squint anymore. I was squinting because it was too bright! I need sunglasses to live.

Hope you find some answers. I love codeine, but one of the over-the-counter codeine hits I often use has recently been giving me really unpleasant breathing difficulties where it feels like my chest can't expand properly and I get all hot and panty. Yuck. Who needs side effects!

I've been getting migraines for 13 years now.  Started at puberty, increased in frequency in my early twenties.  I can't take any hormones because many versions of the pill increased the frequency and severity of my migraines.  I'm on preventative meds now (anti-seizure meds).  Be careful with taking too much pain medication (Tylenol, etc), as this can cause rebound headaches.  It could be why you have headaches all the time.  You get a migraine, take the pain meds then get a rebound headache after the migraine, take more pain meds, it's a vicious cycle that is hard to break.  I know it's hard, but try to keep a regular sleep schedule (bed at same time every night, wake up at same time every day), drink plenty of water and really avoid caffeine.  And agree with the headache journal.  My brother gets migraines, one of his triggers is hot dogs.  Every time he had hotdogs, he got a migraine, didn't figure it out until he kept a journal.

Misstrouble try cutting out the Crystal Light.  I know it's EASIER to switch birth control, but trust me, the aspartame is doing you no good thing.

I've been sticking to plain water and my head seems to hurt less, I just started the new pill last night, so it will be a few days before I figure out if that's it or not. I don't use pain killers often, I tryed them but gave up quickly when they didn't help in any way. I just deal with it now and know it will go away eventually. Hopefully I've got it figured out.

I eat only whole weat breads, drink mostly water, and eat as healthy as possible. Along with serious physical training 3 nights a week, I'm training to be a boxer. So, the dizziness was the worst of it all. I need my balance. Thanks for the advice everyone!
