    We had a blast!! (Bugsy)

DH & I took advantage of our proximity to city center and a beautiful evening to take B for a walk in town and stop to have a beer.  I haven't taken him into town much because he is just so hyper with all the smells and the 'city' squirrels that don't run off when we approach so I was very happy that DH joined us and held the leash.

He did awesome, he had to sit and wait at all the corners (normally he stands but we are trying to get him to default sit whenever we stop) and it was busy, so it was very noisy with lots of people.  And then when we stopped to have a beer tons of people wanted to pet him, others were terrified of the giant dog, the waitress gave him a bowl of water, every sort of person walked by him and he had to stay in a down.  Not so difficult for some but prissy pants doesn't like to sit or down on most surfaces.  He totally didn't want to down on the sidewalk but he did and eventually he even laid down.

It was very cute when our nachos arrived he went into a sit and his head was way over the table - he just needed a fork Big Smile

and here are a few pictures:

Dad do you see that squirrel he's staring at me

I really need to stay like this on this dirty hard pavement?

    OK it isn't tooo bad!

We vowed we will do it more often - he did get better at walking calmly and at just taking in the sights and sounds

YAY Bugsy!! What a good boy you are!

Aren't you the shinniest dog here? WOW look at that coat! Tell me something... did you get a nacho? Stick out tongue

It's so much fun to have days like that! They're my favorite! My poor, nekkid puppy is learning to do downs on "dirty" surfaces, too, LOL. It's funny to watch the faces they make.

We are taking a class in a dog park and he HATES the woodchip ground, so when he goes down he tries to not let his chest touch Confused and his butt never touches when he sits. The instructor gets a little tetchy but he is just super prissy, I didn't do it to him LOL He still rarely sits or lays down outside = weird!

Miss Calinisma I did get a nacho it was YUMMY!

He looked like he had a fabulous time!!  Nice, calm, controlled walking around town is great exercise for the brain.  Just as tiring as chasing ducks in a lake.  LOL  He looks great...you'll have to do that more often!

What a good boy!! Yeah, Rascal doesn't like to "down" on icky surfaces, either. He gives me this look like, "Seriously? Are you THAT obnoxious? Sigh....." and then goes down slooooowly to see if I'll be lazy and let him off before he has to go all the way down.

On another note, Bugsy is looking fantastic! Look at that glossy coat! What's your secret? :)

Way to go Bugs, Karen, & Karen's DH!  That is a great accomplishment!

Bugs, don't feel bad...Bevo & Shooter both hate to sit or lay on hard surfaces as well.  (We have resorted to carrying a blanket in the cars, so that they boys have a place to lay. Embarrassed)

Prince Bugsy, you are a silly boy! I think your mama needs to get a pic of your squat-sit. Big Smile

Thank you all for the nice comments - his coat is doing really well we are primarily using Orjen fish and I am very happy with it.

I invited DH to last week's class and he finally seems onboard with working on the things we need him to be doing.  He's always been like what's the big deal if we do different things with him, now he seems to get it - yippee!!

Oh Janice I so bad at taking pictures but I will try. The other week it was so funny he didn't want to sit all the way down at class and I got real stern with him so he did and wound up sitting squarely on a pine cone.  his face was priceless Surprise

Amanda I usually bring something for him to lay on because I know how he is AND he has always been a 'on your mat' sort of dog.  If there is a little rug or something that is where he will sit.

And yes we will do this more often now that we know he can chill when we go to a place

Bugsy's coat is amazing!  And it sounds like he had a great time on his outing, despite having to suffer laying on the ground. Wink
