Camping in West Virginia (pic heavy)

Some of my friends and I went camping this weekend.  It was fabulous!  I'd never been to the place we went to before, or tent camping in October, but it was an amazing experience.

Here's a pic of our site, and my friend Kim:

Me and Kim talking when we first got there (not my best pic, but I don't think I've ever posted a pic of me on here so I thought I should, plus it is a good pic of my truck, which I love :o) ):

It was so pretty.  This is what we could see from out site...

And here's a different view after it got darker...

The next morning it was COLD!  Someones temp gage in their car said 28° at 8 am.... the morning looked like this:

And b/c this post would not be complete w/o some doggie pics:

I'd love to take credit for some of these photos, but I actually forgot my camera (doh!) so these are pics my friend Kristen took.

In the quirky way life works out the dogs and I ended up sleeping in the cab of my truck (the tent I had been loaned was lacking poles, which is where the dogs and I were going to sleep, and then Co-Co didn't like me being in the tent where she couldn't see me all night) which was good, since it got so cold over night I had been worried about them being outside anyway.  It was a wonderful trip and I'm so glad I got to go along.

Gorgeous pics!! I have great memories of camping and rock climbing in Seneca Rocks, WV, with my dad, uncle, and half-brother. There were the most spectacular fireflies I've ever seen in my life (and, sadly, I'm starting to think I might never see them like that again...). It was like Christmas lights, all over all the trees, as far as you could see. Totally magical.

Wow....so pretty! I wish I could go camping, but I **hate** the cold...so, no camping until late spring!

Beautiful pictures, what a great place to camp.  Being a Texas gal that temp in the morning sounds too cold for me!  Glad you all had a good time.

Great pictures! That morning picture is gorgeous but brrrrr!!!! I can feel the cold just looking at it!

Isn't that beautiful!  I would say it looks like fun too but sounds like it gets wayyy to cold for this girl.  Does make me want to go camping when the weather is nicer though.

Fantastic pictures!  It's so nice to finally see you  Smile

How on earth did you stay warm once you got up in the morning!?!  That might be too cold, even for this cold-weather gal.  I wouldn't have been able to keep Monroe out of that georgous lake.

    p.s. - I like your truck too.

LOVE your truck! We don't normally go camping in the fall but we do spend nights in the ice shack once icefishing time comes. Ben and I ran out of heat once and had to huddle underneath the sleeping bags (doubled up) and keep them over our heads to stay warm! Atleast you had the truck you could turn on every once in a while and crank the heat while everyone else shivered in their sleep! lol

I'm glad you had a good time and it was nice to finally see the person behind the posts!

    Thanks everyone :o)

It really was such a fun trip and the cold wasn't too bad until the early morning and when we were packing up, since we couldn't hang around the fire to do that.

I need to find (or actually have someone take) a better picture of me for on here.  I keep saying I will, but I hate pictures of myself so it rarely happens.

I'm partial to that truck for 2 reasons.  I bought it new, all on my own, and full size Toyota 4x4 trucks are my most favorite vehicles of all time.  (growing up I pestered my Dad for *years* that I wanted one, and wore him down to the point that my first vehicle was an '86 toyota 4x4 pick-up, I think just so I'd shut up)
