    Mindless Chatter - Moanday

Hey!  I get to start this thread today - I feel so special!

So this morning DH says "Happy Anniversary!" to me and my half asleep reply was.... Sleep "Whaaat?   Anniversary?....oh yeah!"  I feel like a total dufus now and I haven't planned or done anything!

Help!  I need some ideas to do something special and yet non-time consuming or expensive.  oh dear....

Dinner tonite at his favorite resturant?

I know that has to put you in a bind....I had an ex-bf that was crazy about 'anniversary's . . . . personaly, when I'm 'dating' a guy, 1 month does not consitiute a party. 6 maybe.

Part of the problem is that I've been trying to eliminate food from celebrations.  I was finding that we associated food with good things ALL the time and I wanted to change that.  We also don't have a lot in the account at the moment...

I realize that this is not an excuse but we actually have two anniversaries - the first one is 12/27 and the next is 10/20.  We did get married twice, 10 months apart.  The problem is that this is the "big" one.

Maybe I'll have some wallet sized photos of M&M and me made and put them in a card for him.  He doesn't have any recent pics...

A good friend of mine made the sweetest gift for her DH for their anniversary and he still talks about it. She cut out 100 heart shaped pieces of paper and wrote something she loved about him on each one and stuck it in a heart shaped box. You wouldn’t have to do 100 since that WOULD be time consuming.. but you could do maybe 10 or something. Maybe the “10 top reasons I married you”  ???   If you can get your hands on a heart shaped box it would be nice, but it isn’t necessary to do so. Perhaps you can have them strewn over some “pulled down” bed sheets. Wink

Did he propose any place special that you could drive to and revisit?  Maybe you can make a calendar of those pictures of you and the dogs, and put some special dates on the calendar.  I don't know what planting seasons are like in your area, but I like the idea of a tree.  You guys are working on building the "branches" of your family tree right now, so that might be something special to symbolize it.

Ok, these are random ideas that might spur other thoughts.  :)

    Happy Anniversary, btw! :)

this is as time-consuming as you WANT it to be.  It's as cheap as glue and paper.

PIck up whatever magazine, advertisements, newsprint, junk mail -- ANYTHING and cut out words.  Words that would lend themselves to something FUNNY or something cute or sexy or whatever.

Then just take paper and glue and make sort of a ransom note looking thing out of the "words" you found.

Like say you take an advertisement that says:

Howl-w-ween Extravaganza!  Gorgeous costumes, scarey masks, party supplies HALF OFF

YOU cut out "howl" "extravaganza" "gorgeous" "scarey" "party" and maybe "half off".

    Start writing

When we first met it was at a <> and altho they thought it was a real <> it was really pretty <> that among all those people most of them were <> their rockers!!

Then I saw you looking at me ... or was it at the <> Irish Setter behind me??

You get the picture.  You can make it hysterically funny or serious.  But let your imagination run amok.  You can use the words to describe him, or your first impressions of him or the things you LIKE about him or tell a funny story.

A little gluestick and you're in business.  You can make it as long as you have time to -- then just poke holes (2) in the top or left side and string a piece of ribbon thru it to 'bind' it and you have an absolutely 1 of a kind card or even gift.

I promise the time you take will be well spent.  I've given these to sweethearts, bosses, friends and families and I've never failed to have it delight ... It's just a great way to say "I'm thinking of you" in any way you want to.

We just found out that one of our clients passed away over the weekend.  We have so many clients and prospects, but he stood out among them.  What a generous smile and positive attitude he had for everyone.  I'm so sorry he's passed.  RIP Mr. Zamudio.

I'm so sorry miranadobe. My condolences to you and his family.

Yay for Mondays! =] I like them, I'm sorry! haha

I did some real scrubbing at work today, moved a bunch of cages and really cleaned behind them, washed ALL the bowls and stuff, lots of bleaching - it'll be a disaster by tomorrow, but at least I felt good about it!

I bought some Earth Bath Shampoo for Casey - much to his dismay, it'll be bath night after the park tonight!

M&M - how long have you two been married? What about a different 'suprise' for as many days as it's been year (ie - 7 years of marraige = 7 days of whatever) just some little things. I dunno, I'm not so good at the gift giving thing... I'm also not a big one for anniversaries either....

I need new pants.... I don't know what happened to all of mine..........

ah monday. I like it becuase I dont have class! ha!

I got kicked so hard in the chest/sternum on saturday nights class I fell over & couldn't breathe, ya it was alot of fun! I hate that feeling of not being able to breathe.  I got to see my grandfather yesterday ( i think I've seen him about 5 or 6 times in my whole life) so that was fun spent the day in S.F. with my sis, her BF, my BF, grandpa & my dad.  It was neat, we got to see that mega yacht called the 'maltese falcon', supposidly its the worlds largest sailing yacht.

Today my BF took care of his dogs vaccinations because of the 10 day notice from animal control. I guess Amber had  a bunch of stuff going on ( seems so typical, I swear her previous owner - my BF's ex - ya I know its really wacky, but he REALLY wanted that dog - but the previous owner did very little in keeping that dog healthy it seems). so she has ear infections ( in both ears) and around her genitals she's got a yeast thing going on ( she constantly licks down there) and the ole anal glands needed a good cleaning.  Any who he left missing $500 in his pocket after that visit.  We also found out ( i knew this) that Bella was overweight - I  had to fight him on the food reduction about 2 months ago - but now he's got the vet's word on it too.

Really nice that its getting cooler, so that dog walks can happen after work! and not just in the wee morning hours.

M&M's Mom, Congrats on the anniversary!  I would try to give you an idea on a gift, but I stink at that sort of thing.  DH celebrates all kinds of silly milestones, & I rarely remember what they are.  I end up struggling to get a gift at the last minute.

Paige, that sucks about your client passing away.  I'll send up a little prayer for his family.

I spent this morning interviewing people to replace me.  I took a promotion, so we need someone to replace me.  It was a very boring task, & I am very thankful that HR took care of most of it.

    Ahh the joy of mondays!

akyramoto82 - my Bf wants to bring his new pup to my house....he doesn't even know if he has all his shots! uggg.....Animal Control makes semi-regular visits to the neighborhood behind my house, I dont need them coming up to my house, Sam and Taz both have all shots, but we've lost Sam's records, and I'm not sure if they're registered or not.

Anyway, my days been boring....just making an attempt at school work, and checking ouy colleges(which I wont have a chance at if I dont do my school work....good job Meg, just great). Sam is barking his head off at the cars passing by....doggy translation - WALK ME!!! So, thats up next.

OK - I've made dinner reservations for this evening (a steakhouse, uck) after ensuring that my credit card will hold until payday...

I also picked out a picture of us together, one for each year starting with our wedding.  I sent the pictures off to Walgreens to print up and I have a little scrapbook that I'm going to pop them into - leaving some blank pages at the end to represent our future.

He travels every week and this way he can stash it in his suitcase and pull it out to look at when he wants to.
