Picking out good names for your pets small rant

I like unique names for my pets. Kameo for my cat, though he came with that name. Lol. And Maze for my dog.  I did own a Daisy but her full name was Daisy Weed Killer. Lol. She ripped up my friend's mom garden of daisies.. Now my roommate named his dog Wolf cuz apparently he's part wolf.. *rolls eyes* He's a shepherd mix but he howls like a Wolf. Lol. I call him Buddy.

Now for my next cat I have no idea what I'm gonna name her. I usually name my pets when I see them for the first time.

I've met so many Shadow's it's not even close to funny....my aunt has a little poodle mix called Shadow, my old neighbor had a mutt called Shadow, my newer neighbor has a Lab called Shadow....the list goes on..

My uncle has a Golden named Buddy, he's like 12. I've met 2 Shepherds named Buddy. A really big dog(mastiff?), a tiny little terrier mix, and a Beagle mix.

    4 Dakoda's.(Shepherds and Husky's). 2 Baxter's. 3 Rose's. 2 Jewel's. I've lost count of the number of Peanut's. 3 Sandy's. 2 Taz's(one is mine, and before him, I'd never met a dog named Taz). Plus the 4? 5? Lucky's. And quite a few Elvis's.

Suprisingly, Sam is the only Sam I've met....but I have met a Beagle/Basset(that I'd **love** to have) named Boomer....kind of common name but it fits him very very well.

Max has got to be one of the commonest names I know - I wush I had picked something else now.  My BIL has a gundog named Purdey (which is a type of gun).  My sister has 2 wire fox terrier called Shady and Punch.  Shady is a cool name I think.  Her eg name is Shaftesbury's Shady Money.  All the litter were named along the same lines; her litter sister was called Shaftesbury's Spare Cash (Cassie).

My ex had a dog called Brutus, which fitted him really well.

Telling people you have a dog named Bernard always gets either a really good 'awwww' reaction or a what the heck were you thinking, one. Most our dogs come named and we don't change them typically. I would NEVER have named a dog Trey. I hate that name, but it came with him. It doesn't suit him at all. He gets call Buddy more. bernard was named for looking an awful lot like a saint bernard pup when he was young. I would never have thought of that name, but it fits him very well. He does get called Nardo or Nard most the time, though. Summer's name always gets compliments but I can't take any credit for that. We've also had both a Rosie and a Rose, but they both fit well and Rose came with that name after having it two years... Oh, and Beau was named by my mother. I call him Beauzo. (His breeder hates that) ;)

Me too.  Sometimes I think that I should have  at least added an extra *X* on there.  Maxx has kind of an air that plain old Max doesn't have. Smile
