I think I said something about this before -- this isn't "for profit" so I'm hoping it's not inappropriate but the University of Florida is doing a Shelter Medicine Conference this year. It's in Gainesville, FL and you do NOT have to be a Florida resident to attend. They didn't do the dog symposium this year and are doing this instead (which will probably be more helpful to many). If anyone needs it, I have Cathy Gentilman's phone and email or you can get it from the website. For anyone interested, I also can tell you dog-friendly places to stay, etc. I'm on their mailing list so this is the email I got:

The mission of our new Maddie's® Shelter Medicine Program is to enhance the health and welfare of homeless animals through education, innovation, and advancement of the life-saving goals of sheltering programs.
Please join us on November 1st for a full 7 hours of continuing education. You also have the option to stay over to attend Operation Catnip's mass feral cat neuter clinic on Sunday, November 2.
