Aww, poor Bevo!! Rest, recuperate and MILK IT for all it's worth.  I hope your hurty knee feels better soon.

Oh, poor B! You just can't catch a break, can you, handsome???

Amanda, give him a nosie kiss, for me, and tell him I hope he feels better, soon. (((((((hugs)))))) for the worried mom!

    Thanks for the thoughts, guys.

Just a quick update, the surgeon just called. Bev handled the anesthesia well. When they went into the knee, his cruciate ligament is completely intact, as are the meniscus. They are shooting xrays now to try to rule out a tumor or ocd lesion. In short, they aren't sure why he's lame, even though the pre-op xray indicated that it was most likely a torn cruciate.

So now, I am just waiting to hear back from the vet.

That's odd.  I really hope they can find what it is that's got Bevo down.   Thanks for the update.

Holy crap - exploratory surgery is what that sounds like.

    • Gold Top Dog

Wow, good thoughts coming from here!

    • Gold Top Dog

Get well, Bevo. Everyone's got their paws crossed.

Oh my, a neck injury not too long ago and now an injured knee.  I do hope for a speedy recovery.

Holy crap - exploratory surgery is what that sounds like.

That's what it turned out to be.  The surgeon's exact words were, "There is no point in breaking his leg to do the TPLO when his cruciate isn't torn."

Since my last update, Bev has had xrays shot on, pretty much, his entire body.  They shot both knees so that they could take measurements to compare his good knee to his bad knee to try to rule out a tumor.  Both measurements were identical, so they have ruled out a tumor, at least for now.  They shot his hips, which still grade out as good.  Shots of his spine looked fine, & his neck looks the same as it did before.

They don't believe that his lameness & knee pain is caused by his Wobblers, as it is almost unheard of to affect one rear leg.  After his incision from the exploratory heals, we will start exploring the possibility of a MRI.  I am told that it will be difficult to do an MRI, since nobody can seem to find where the actual problem is.

I am so frustrated, and I have no clue where to go from here.  Every time he seems to be doing well, something goes wrong.  I am almost to the point of giving up, so if anyone has any ideas, no matter what they may be, please throw them out there for me.  I am willing to try to explore pretty much any idea.

Oh Amanda I wish I did have an idea but I don't - I'll certainly be wracking my pea brain - I'm usually pretty good at coming up with ideas for mysterious human ailments so I will do my best.

I feel so sad for Bevo - BUT he is so lucky to have you & DH.

Sending our absolute best to you

No ideas for you that you haven’t already thought of Amanda.  I am so sorry this keeps happening. Just when you think things are good, they change in a second.   Fingers still crossed for all of you that the doc will be able to find some answers very soon.
