First off, I understand the credit crunch needed action. In reality there was no choice. There will be consequences and we will all need to find ways to deal with the impact on our lives.
However I am livid where Congress is concerned. I am so tired of a group of individuals who will constantly pass legislation for other public employees requiring collaboration, ethical behavior and rapid probelm solving responses. It has happened to first responders, to teachers, to contractors working on public projects, to States for enforcement of unfunded mandates, to agencies with interstate responsibilities. Then in the eye of the media they do everything in their power to act in a manner contrary to those same requirements they have imposed on other public employees. They refuse to work in a timely manner to address needs and ignore those same needs by funding pork barrel add ons instead.
Although I do not believe it will be possible, I would truly like to put a bit of fear into those folks with a NO INCOMBENTS campaign across that nation. I have seen some folks start some pretty influential petitions on the web. Has anyone done one before? Any hints or suggestions?
