    Mindless Chatter - TGIF!!

Whew, we made it through another week.

I finally got my hot tub hooked up WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO! I'm telling you...the waiting has been killing me. But you can only do so much with the money I make and the bills I have to pay. I can not wait to get in it!!!!!!

I cleaned out my car last night. Boy did it need it. Sand, mud, sheep poo, dog hair......disgusting.

I got sucked in to the debate last night as well as the wrap up after. I hate politics and it was irritating to me that I got sucked in to watching it. I'm such a die hard liberal, no debate is going to change that so why watch? But I did. And it was pretty interesting. I found it funny that Palin was so blatently trying to use the hockey mom, I'm just like you card. Do people really buy that BS? And de-regulation when they are right now voting for gov't regulation on the economy? McCain's camp has really flubbed up his campain.

    Oops....I hate talking politics.

LOL.I got sucked in at midnight and didn't go to bed until 1 AM. That might as well be an all-nighter for me. I had too much wine, but slept well and am surprisingly chipper today. Wink

Our foster may have a family come meet him. Fingers are cross, but I am not trying to get too excited for him because he needs a home that is really committed to continuing his training. I need to post his weight loss photos. He's gone from obese to very fat, and each week you can see a little bit more of his body, although his ribs are still under like 3 inches of fat. He such a goofy boy and really is fun to have around, but deserves a family of his own. Fingers crossed!

Luna and I had agility last night and rally tonight. She is really killing the weaves (we are using channel method) and she almost has all twelve in a straight line. It's getting increasingly clear that I need to lose weight to keep up with her on course.

Me too.  Ex and I were supposed to be moving my stuff, but we paused to watch the debates.  Palin was appealing to her base, the people who think "she's just like me."  The problem is, she should have been appealing to the people who are in the middle who are still wavering between the two.  But I suspect that is too much to expect from her...

I made it through my first night in the new house.  More importantly, GRACIE made it through the first night.  She WHINED from the backyard while we were moving stuff in, but I just couldn't keep an eye on her and this property is full of nocturnal wildlife.  I stayed with her in the yard this morning, just to be on the safe side. She looks a little confused to be there, but she ate her dinner, so that is a good sign.

You poor guys on the East Coast had to wait until 9:00 p.m. to see it. Big Smile I got to watch it at 6:00 while I was having dinner. She did a better job than I expected, but I still like Biden better.  He was way more familiar with McCain's voting record than she was with Obama's, or McCain's either for that matter. I just loved how each time she criticized Obama for voting/not voting a certain way on an issue, Biden was able to point out that McCain voted the exact same way.

To be fair, I was watching one channel where they did sort of a fact check right after the debate and there was at least one reference to a particular vote where Biden said McCain voted the same - but in reality, McCain wasn't even there to vote - he was off campaigning (in PA I think).

There was one response of hers that was grating - he had some substantive argument and she came back with something like "Say it ain't so, Joe.  You just keep referencing the old, why don't we talk about the changes to move forward."  Even my little nephew would have sarcastically piped up "Nice come back!"

serious TGIF and we still have the most awesome weather - not a cloud, upper 40's in the morning and maxing out in the lower 70's!  Goodbye summer '08 - hello Autumn

Sorry but Palin had her beauty queen smile going and I couldn't stop thinking of Tina Fey - She did better than I thought she would BUT she just ignored many questions and talked about what she felt comfortable with.  I know these two will likely never hold the presidency but I really worry about her ........better shut up now

In-laws are gone and whew am I relieved (Bugsy is too - he has slept since they left)

Feeling blah and slighty down these days must buck up.

Going to hear/see Michael Buble tonight hoping it is a great show

Oh I envy you!! I hope you'll have a lot of fun and tomorrow you will share it Big Smile

Today I'm alone, DH and his crazy schedule: half of the week working at night, the other half during the day. So, I'm suppose to work a lot and take Thor out in the afternoon. We will see!

Yesterday I gave the first spanish class and my students did pretty well. Lots of fun trying to get the sounds of: ñ, r, rr.

I am so.stuffed.up right now.  Not a cold, not allergies, not sick....but I turned on the furnace for a brief moment last night.  Ugh.  Good thing I can pick up my new glasses today, my eyes are all goopy.

Oh I know that makes me laugh so hard no matter how many times I've watched it.  One of the Today show announcers said that is all they could think of too.  She just had that ear to ear smile going no matter what or who she was talking about - even her little down home (down home in Alaska?) comments were delivered with that permanent grin.  It looked put on and I am of the opinion that when discussing serious topics an ear to ear insincere smile just ain't the right look.

Another thing I kept thinking of was why is it such a big deal she's from Alaska?  She really plays on that - it is one of 50 states isn't it? Wink

Julie all this politics is your fault - done now

Calinisima I love Buble and am looking forward to the concert!!

i think she kept mentioning it because that is where her political experience is.

    • Gold Top Dog

I skipped the debate.  It was hard to do too.  It was on pretty near every channel...

Had to stay home today, no babysitter for Kali.  Its thrown everyone's schedules off.  The dogs haven't even been fed yet and they're not happy about it.  I also ran out of their meat so they're getting pork ribs.  Darn it anyway.  I wanted to eat those.  However, they were frozen in one big package so I have to defrost them and split them up or the beast will eat them all and Onyx too if she tries to get some.  Can you teach dogs to share?

And sigh...now Kelci is up again.  She normally sleeps from 10 till 2 when I'm working...not today.  Seeeeee Schedule screw ups are not good!

Well, yes it is one of 50 states, but we have to remember that it's being from Alaska that gives her all that foreign policy experience.  She's up there (in her own words) between two foreign countries, she has to keep her eye on Russia and Putin flies over her house.  How much more experience could anyone want?

As long as we're talkin' politics anyway, I have to announce that I actually saw my first "Yes on Prop. 8" bumper sticker today (that's a just in CA thing) and surprise! surprise! *not* it was plastered on right next to a McCain/Palin bumper sticker. And there I was, parked right next to it with my "Obama/Baden", "No on Prop. 8" and "Please Spay and Neuter Your Republicans" stickers. Big Smile
