I'll live vicariously through all of you...

I would love to add a cat to the household but have already been told absolutely not.  My SO would agree to half a dozen dogs before he'd let a cat in the house (ok maybe not that many dogs hehe).

I'm have a major soft spot for orange tabbies.  My brother and I were given two kitties (brothers, orange tabbies) as a divorce consolation gift by my dad.  One was Snuggles (very good name for him) the other Mumpkin (shyer bit more independent, snored like Big Bird).  They've both passed away now and I miss particularly Snuggles dearly.  He was my shadow, the fur I cried into, and obnoxious in his need for love (and I loved it!).

Deep down I'm more of a dog person, but I love cats and miss having one around (and have for sometime since it's been a few years since Mumpkin (the last to pass away) has left us.

Maybe a kitty could miraculously sneak into the house on their own and well ya know can't just kick him out into the cold, winter is coming after all....

Oh JJ is the opposite. Well he would rather not have ANY animals at all. If I bring a new dog home he wants to choke me(doesnt though!!). But I could bring in 100 cats and he wouldnt care as long as he never saw a mouse(thank goodness we havent had any yet) or any evidence of a mouse.

I am like you. I LOVE orange tabbies. For some odd reason I cant seem to keep them. I can bring any other colored cat here and it will florish. But an orange cat just isnt in my cards I guess. I used to have a orange tabby named Orion. I loved that cat. He thought he was a dog. Seriously he loved going riding in the car and go on walks with me and the dogs. Someone stole him one day. Crying

Thanks now I want a orange tabby!!!

BF is the same way.  He's not a cat person, so no cats in our house. Crying

I grew up with cats always around.  My heart cat was an orange tabby.  His name was Topaz.  We got him from a shelter at 8 weeks old, and had him until he went to the bridge at age 15.  Around 5 years old he was diagnosed with feline urologic syndrome (couldn't metabolize magnesium, so it would crystallize in his bladder and block his urethra), but it was easily controlled through diet.  Then, around age 10, he was diagnosed with diabetes.  He lived for 5 more years after that, which amazed the vets, but my mom was so diligent with his twice daily insulin shots, there was no way money or "it's too much effort" was going to get in the way of him being happy and healthy.  I cried like a baby when I got the news that he had passed (he lived with my parents in NC, I had already moved to Georgia).  Thankfully he went peacefully in his sleep.  I'll never forget my sweet orange boy.  Oh, I'm getting choked up just thinking about him!

You all have the cutest kitties!

Here are some pics of my parents' cats.  Although they don't live with me, I still consider them to be my girls.  All these pics are from Christmas last year, hence the decorations (my mom is a Christmas NUT and decorates every inch of the living room!)

This is Amber, our fattie, on her favorite perch (the back of the loveseat):

And here is Lily, the little terror:

Here's Lily demonstrating why she is such a troublemaker.  Yes, she is on TOP of the curtains!

And, finally, Noel.  She's the beauty queen of the house.  She was a Christmas gift to my mom from my brother and myself, hence the name:

    Awww kitties!!

Let me tell you, when I rescued Luke from the street. DH was so angry with me, he actually ask me not to kiss the kitties (there were two, the other went to his forever family), he said "wash your hands after touching them" ~lol~ in less than two weeks, he finally gave up and my jaw dropped when I saw him napping with tiny Luke wrapped in his neck. So, I think you have hope!

    Pictures??

Everyone who is "not a cat person" has never owned one, in my experience!  My DH claims to "hate cats".... he loves our Greebo Smile

Tip.... tell him you have been thinking about getting a horse and pester him for one of those for a few weeks.... or months.  Then when you "downgrade" to a cat, he will be so relieved you stopped asking for a horse he will probably relent.  That's how I got Greebo Smile

    Here she is:

Nope there's no hope - while he didn't live with the cat an ex of his had one and he wanted nothing to do with the feline.  :(

All of your kitties are just too much - be grateful I don't know where you live or.....hehe.  I just want to love on all of them!  Funny thing is I'm actually allergic to cats, and my Dad's cats really affected my allergies badly but I told me Dad he couldn't get rid of them or I'd never visit!  Man I miss my Snuggles and Mumpkin, I have some old photos of them somewhere - and if I have any that don't include me as a kid in them I'll scan and post them!  Or maybe I'll post the ones with me anyway so you all can get a good laugh at how akward looking a kid I was ha!

I wish there were some way to change his mind - I'd even show him this thread, but I know it would not do any good....so I will just awww over these pictures and pretend to get some kitty loving.

I have way too many pictures of my cats... I'll share some when I've got a minute =]

I've got BAD cat allergies too, and I've got five of my own, plus I work in a place that has 60+ cats at any moment, and I foster. But - I can't NOT have a cat, I just don't think it would feel right! I love my kitties.

OMG! I miss my cat now! I've always had outside cats. About 2 years ago I had a little male kitten named Apache. He looked similar to Sugar and Spice. My Beagle/Doxie mix had 'treed' him in a pile of concrete blocks. So I had to rescue a little 5-ish week old kitten from her, he was wild, and within a few days he was a snuggle-bug! I loved that cat! He and that 'mean old beagle' became best friends within a few days too. I had to get rid of him because my father claimed he scratched the hood of his car(with I firmly believe Apache did NOT do, but IF he did, Jeff had it comin' to him. *hmmp!*) I don't have any pics of my baby cat thou.....I miss my boy! I ended up giving him to my friend who's step dad changed his name to 'Moo'(wtf?!) and then to Bobby. And then they gave him to someone who started calling him Skittles. After that I lost track of who had him. I miss him so much now.....
