Humane Society Walk for the Animals in Washington, DC

    http://petknows.com/2008/10/01/humane-society-walk-for-the-animals/

This Sunday, October 5, 2008 the Humane Society is having a Walk for the Animals where dog owners are encouraged to bring their dogs for a scenic walk around the lake at Constitution Gardens in Washington, D.C. Unfortunately for me, D.C. has a ban on Pit Bulls so I am unable to take Santana to the event. However, I encourage all of you dog owners who are able to make it to the event on Sunday to attend, and to encourage your friends and family to attend as well. This is a great cause, and all proceeds will benefit adoption, humane education, and spay/neuter programs.

Not too sure about this phrase, if the group is the HSUS.  Many people, myself included, don't believe they have their priorities in order.
