It is amazing. So far so good...with the exception of the first morning feeding faux pas on my part. Lesson learned, and going well.
When I brought Bruder home for the introduction, I knew not to just allow him right into the mix. And, I was a bit unsure exactly the best way to do it. I first thought to take them outside the property to be on neutral territory. But, really even the road is territory to them, so I decided to just drive right on in. I left Bruder in the crate but opened up the back of my SUV...stood back and observed. Heidi and Buddy were very interested but well behaved. After about 5-10minutes of that...Bruder laid down in his crate and Heidi wandered off. Wow! Perfect aloofness. Just what I needed to see.
I decided at that point to let him out, keep him on a drag line and let them meet. That's when the video camera came out and you saw the results. Happy, happy, happy!
Buddy is enjoying his peace and quiet whilst the young hooligans play play play. I am having to kennel Bruder periodically so that they get some rest. And, they seem quite happy to rest. Funny dogs.
