I think she said since they were part of a court case... they can't post pictures - they are evidence.

    • Gold Top Dog

That's exactly right -- there's a court case involving the hoarder -- they can't post pictures or even tell me names.  They can't "place" them until the court case is over -- so they are in LONG-term foster care.

That's great. you are really inspiring to love my pets even more. Actually, im thinking to get some more pets.

I wanted to make a quick update here regarding the dogs that were seized and treated for demo, thanks to Callie's generous donation of supplies to the shelter. We were able to get a court release and ALL of the dogs that we treated for demo have been adopted! Of the total 30 seized, we were able to place  25 of them - five of the dogs had serious dog aggression issues that we were not able to overcome in a reasonable amount of time and therefore we were not able to place them for adoption safely.

Not only were we able to treat all of these demo dogs, we had enough supplies to treat two more demo dogs that were brought into the shelter shortly after! The supplies made a world of difference not only for these dogs, but also in the eyes of the staff as it made everyone realize that Mytoban is not *the only* treatment for demo, which I hope will lead to better outcomes for demo dogs of the future.

I have since had to leave my position at the shelter due to personal problems, namely my mother's condition due to cancer. My family needs me right now and I cannot put anything before them. I would like to publicly apologize to Callie for having been lax in responding to her email a couple of weeks ago; my mind is fairly scrambled at this point and I completely forgot. Thanks to her, the demo dogs were able to treated and placed into loving home. If I accomplish nothing else in my life, I can at least sleep at night because of the chance that she gave us to help these dogs.

     So once again...

    THREE CHEERS FOR CALLIE!  Party!!!

Wow, I just got to this, and I didn't read page 2, but -- Callie, your so wonderful! You've helped me with Sam, and I just got here. I don't think I'd have stayed very long on this forum if it wasn't for you and a few others being so kind an supportive! I've 'seen' how you 'talk' to people, and help them over come serious issues - I'm always in aw. I can truely say, that you are the type of person that we should all strive to be like(and you hubby too!).

I'm so glad that 25 of those dogs got great homes! I'm sorry the other 5 could not...

The world is a better place because you are here.

Angels aren't just figments of imagination or ethereal whisps of plasma. They have feet of flesh and sometimes have four dogs. And live in Florida.

I had to go read page 2, and I'm glad I did!

    ron2 is completely right!

Callie - you are probably one of the only reasons I still have faith in humanity.

Well phrased. One of the reasons I hang out in this forum is to rub elbows with some truly noble people. In spite of personal problems, disagreements, different POVs, something miraculous happens. Miracles do happen and it's not always as grandiose as the parting of the Red Sea. But, to a dog biding time in a shelter, it must the miracle of a lifetime.

Callie definitely is a doggy angel -- for her own dogs as well as everyone she helps.  She's been very generous in her advice and support and willing to listen to my ramblings and help me make sense out of the best courses of action for my pup with a large number of seemingly unconnected symptoms.

Hip Hip Hooray! is a good way to put it :)

Wow this is the first time I am seeing this.  Can't say I am surprised in the least, Callie you are a wonderful, kind and generous person that we all could inspire to be more like.  I know you've offered your generously to help me with some issues, I haven't forgot and need to talk to you - just been so danged busy with the new job to take time for myself.

Callie for president!!  Seriously, you are one of a kind!!  And of course David too, I know he is always right there with you on your kind generosity.

OH gosh, I'm SO sorry to hear about Stormyknight's Mom.  I will email her.

I figured something was going on -- you had SO much happening - no harm, no foul, ok?

But what AWESOME news.  **ALL THE DEMODEX DOGS PLACED**  RAH!! That makes my day.  Totally and utterly.  And two more helped besides?  That's just plain incredible.

Now, it's my fervent hope that ll those dogs will change lives.  Help people know that sometimes challenges come in life and you just have to work your way thru them.  David's gonna be SO excited to hear this!!

Im just another one of the many people you have helped in a huge way.  Thank you Callie, not only have you helped me with my dogs (and are doing so again) but your words on what you have been through have helped me to get to where I am today.  I never thought I would have the strength to change everything I know, but ALL of you on here helped me a long time ago.... Im thankful for all of you actually.... THANK YOU

Totally OT - Haven't seen you in a while, Amy. I can send a Texas-sized hug to you. My BIL and family live near Baton Rouge. My neices work at the local shelter aside from their studies and work. So, I can just fling a "howdy"  and have it float down the Mississippi River to you. Or get hung on a bus on I-10.
