    Mindless Chatter TGIF!!!!

The carpet guy is here! WOOHOO!!! The bedroom is getting done today! *does a dance*

Surprisingly enough I don't hurt that bad today. Well my butt bone still hurts but otherwise I'm good. Except for the chainsaws!! BC Hydro has to cut back the trees every 5 years and well it's been 5 years and they started at 7:30 this morning.. Not impressed....

Co-Co is not impressed with her new situation.  This mornings potty trip was a battle of wills.  Normally in the AM I just let them out in the yard to do their thing, but Co-Co has to go out on a leash right now and she was none to happy about that.  So instead of pottying she did 'I'm-going-to-go-to-the-end-of-the-leash-and-stare-at-you-till-you-let-me-go'  Good think I'm more stubborn :o)  So she went back inside while I got ready and the 2nd time we went out she did her business, but wasn't thrilled about not being able to run around.

I'm so tired.  I actually got almost 8 hours of sleep last night, more than I've had all week, but now I just want a nap.

My coworker is a little grumpy today and that is affecting me.  I hate when that happens.  My boss has been out sick and we've been trying to help eachother, so I don't know what the issue is.

Turns out it's a good thing that ex didn't take Achilles with him to the new house last night.  The neighbor came over earlier and said that someone tried to break into his dad's truck the night before.  The dogs go nuts over anything, so I would have no idea if someone had tried to get to my car or not - I honestly don't recall any particular time of the 5 or 6 that they went nuts... but I am glad that I still have Achilles to help protect this house and my stuff.

My mind is fried!  I swear my new puppy will require more paperwork than purchasing a house!  Just today I was getting forms for UKC registration, AKC DNA kit, WDA DNA registry, WDA scorebook registry, WDA microchip registry, veterinary verification of microchip....oh yeah and each one will charge at least $15!

He has to have a "B" name for his registrations so he will probably be Alta-Tollhaus' Bono or Bono v. Alta-Tollhaus.  Still looking for the *perfect* call name.

I think I am finally going to see the puppers tonight, if I can get back in touch with the breeder.  We were e-mailing earlier but she disappeared before the plans were 100% so I dunno...she lives nearly 2 hours a way.

Oh does anyone know where I can purchase a microchip scanner?

Sigh... I'm just glad that it is Friday.

I think I'll have a chick flick movie night tonight with junk food and everything  Smile  DH is red-eyeing it home tonight so he'll be home just in time to do the morning potty run.

I'm hoping that Morrison and I can get out for a nice bike ride tomorrow.  I'm going to use some pad protector on his feet just to be sure that he's ok.

*Does the happy dance with Oranges*  I'm so glad that your carpet is being installed!  Will you get to sleep in your own bedroom tonight or tomorrow?  You might not be able to sleep without headphones on now  Wink

I was walking down one of the neighborhood streets with Max this a.m. and he spotted a cat in someones driveway.  Usually not a big thing ... he looks, maybe pauses for a second and continues on.  Not today.  Today he decided to have "stare down" with the cat and he plopped himself right down in the street.  Fortunately the streets in my neighborhood sort of horseshoe around one to the other and there's very little traffic. So there I am, tugging on the leash and yelling "come" and there he is on his stomach, staring at a dang cat.  I'd tug, he'd get up a little and move backwards about a foot and lay down again.  This probably went on for 1/2 hr. and I'm sure anybody looking thought we were nuts, but it's not like I can pick him up and carry him. Big Smile Finally we got far enough down the street so that he couldn't see the cat anymore and he just got up and walked.  We need to back to "something #101" but I'm not sure what.

LOL Joyce, when Ben does crazy stuff like that I usually start jogging.  He doesn't expect it so he's caught off-guard enough that he runs with me to see where I am so eager to get to in a hurry.  I stop when the distraction is far enough away that the thought has left his pretty little head.

Alex is moving the bed in there today so I'm sleeping in there tonight. Smile Tomorrow we're moving the dressers and everything around. I can't wait!

Ugh! The BC Hydro guys have been spraying pesticides and herbicides for the past two days where my neighbor and I walk our dogs.  We didn't get any notice and the signs they put up are way in the trees so we had to walk up to them, through the spray area just to read what it was.. *sigh* So now for the next two or three days I have to walk somewhere else. My neighbor thou can't because of her dog's aggression towards male dogs. I feel bad for her.

well we have finally made it to Autumn - the weather is much cooler and it is such a relief.  Although my sinuses and allergies remain intrusive.

    very sleepy today

Joyce I'll take that behavior any day LOL  Bugs doesn't do the lying down thing he becomes a tree, quite a sturdy one.  Then when you move he lunges like you are going with him to get the cat.  I have used the same as Kate when he gets fixated - just start running - can't do this with prey but let's say he is desperately wanting to see the kids at the bus stop or he has a particularly intense sniff going.  I use it when we are biking if we are going to cross paths with another dog - I tell him 'go fast' and pedal as best I can and it works great.

Our neighborhood is full of deer this year.  This morning a group of 10-12 crossed our path about 30 ft ahead of us.  There were 4 fawns in the group.  Deer used to be his number 1 prey - I think it's geese now Wink but he was still a handful for most of the rest of the walk.

DH has been working at home the last few days really disrupting my schedule Hmm

That works for me sometimes, but other times Harry is just so intent on whatever it is he's sniffing/staring at that I can't get him to budge!  I was just feeling like we needed another 101 class, but I can't think of anything, but maybe more attention work.  Man, my little bugger can lean against a leash like nobody's bidness!

OMG, it is soooooo nice outside right now!  We're finally out of the 95+ degree weather!  It's sunny, about 76 degrees, low humidity, and just a hint of that "fall" smell in the air.  So, I'm daydreaming about how I would have liked to have spent this afternoon.  First, taking Harry for a long walk, both of us enjoying the weather and scenery, then afterwards, sitting on a restaurant patio eating good food and sipping some margaritas.  Ahhhh....that's better!  No, wait, still here.  Indoors.  At work.  Hmph!

TheDogHouseBCMPD, when I had to do that with my girl I noticed if I took pressure off of her she was more eager to potty. I started out just standing around and she'd do teh same thing your dog is doing. But if I acted like I was just walking around the yard or checking my flowers she'd go. Sometimes I'd run a couple of circles around the perimiter....ya like THATS regular for me, LOL. Good luck with it, ha ha!

Liesje, new puppy? What did I miss? Do you have pics up yet? I'm gonna have to go search!

Ha ha Joyce, Rory is such a sucker still, I say "HUH whats that" and jog off like Kate, LOL. If that fails I get behind her and push her butt. Thankfully its very sedlom this happens.

Anyhoo summer just got here 2 weeks ago. We have what you call a "indian summer" its foggy through June/July, ok in August and Sept/Oct is the nicest weather. Crazy central Cali coast, LOL!

Well I find out what the baby is tomorrow....keep fingers and paws crossed for a boy! I really want a boy. I'm scared a girl will turn out snotty and spoiled like I was, LOL! Plus DH deserves a boy.....Rory, a baby and I would be a whole lotta estrogen for him. I'm getting one of those cool 3D ultra sounds so it should be amazing!

i wish Friday meant that I get to have a day off! but until December that's not really happening. Having my final Handgun Safety class tonight, then its to the range tomorrow.  Should be a blast.  I think I get to shoot over 400 rounds.  Not as stressed today, thankfully, with minor relationship problems on top of all my training I'm doing I was very overwhelmed yesterday.

Last night's ride in the sidecar has got me thinking about layers and wind-proof clothing, and gloves.  We came home late - I had jeans & a sweatshirt on & luckily I stuff two small blankets in the trunk of the sidecar, so I was wrapped up in those & still a bit chilly. Also got me thinking about investing in a full face helmet for the colder months.  Today's weather is beautifull, partly cloudy such a nice change from the normal searing heat.

Well the bedroom is offically done!! Maze is having a blast sniffing at the new carpet. This is the first time she's been allowed in the room. I'll have to get a picture of her in there before we start to put it together. So tonight is my first night in a real bedroom in over two years! So that will help with the privacy issues I've been having as well as my new computer desk is a bar so there's a nice wall that will hide me from the rest of the people when I'm on here. I've already had a talk with Alex about how I want the desk setup since I agreed to keep the computer in the living room.

Overall today started really crappy, went meh-ish and is now a really good day! Smile

That is exciting news AuroraLove. I can't wait to hear the news!  When I finally have a kid, I want a boy. Lol. If I had a girl I don't think she would survive being a teenager. I just remember the way I was.
