Mindless Chatter - Monday

    Mindless Chatter - Monday

    Happy Moanday everyone!

I'm happy that I actually got some sleep last night.

We got some serious rain this weekend though. I felt like I was in rain hell. Stuck in the house with 4 dogs yesterday was not fun. The rivers are supposed to hit 2' above flood stage by tomorrow.  I shouldn't complain though - at least it wasn't a hurricane.

I went sheep herding in the rain with Neiko on Sat. We were actually able to re-pen the sheep!! I thought that was going to be really hard with Neiko but he did it and didn't charge in to the pen behind the sheep! I think he does much better when he sees the reasoning behind what I'm asking him to do. We were both soaked to the bone and covered in mud and other "stuff". I took him straight to the groomers and said here you go, have fun. They had to wash him 3x to get it all out! I'm glad I wasn't doing it :) It was worth the $40. Now I have to clean my car out. It reaks.

I'm going back to house training 101 with Lily. She has completely gone backwards. She actually went to go poop right in front of me in the living room yesterday! I startled her so badly and she was soooo upset. Apprently she didn't get the idea though because later that night when I stepped out of the room for 3 mins she went. Runny poo all over Dakota's bed (I think part of it is Lily acting out against Dakota) and on the carpet. I was very angry. Neiko hid under his bed and Lily had that look on her face that she gets when I'm mad. She just gets miserable and it takes her a good 20 mins to get over it.

Anyway, today is going to be a pretty boring day at work.

I don't think I posted that I was road-tripping with my sister to help her move to NJ - we made it! We left Saturday at 8pm, and I drove from 10pm to 3am, and then again from 6am to 10am. Then we hit DC and I don't *do* city traffic. It makes me nervous! We made it here by lunch, thank doG. Note to self - remember why you don't travel with family. She makes me nuts!

So today shouldn't really be anything special. She's going down to her new place in South Jersey, and I'm in Somerset with my family until tomorrow, when I get to go home! I really miss Pirate, but BF said that they were doing fine without me, LOL. I would have brought Pirate, but he's 1'' too big to fit in a Sherpa bag to fly home :)

I'm psyched on FREE BREAKFAST BUFFET! I need coffee ASAP!

You went through there just a few hours before I did.  Some friends and I took the metro in to go see the Saints vs. Skins game (Skins won in the last 6 minutes, if anyones interested.  It was a really fun game to see)  but that meant not having to deal w/ city driving...sigh...heavenly :o)

Saturday sucked.  Don't have the energy to relive it right now to post about it.  But to sum it up DH (lets just say D does *not* stand for 'dear' right now) went back to the old BS he was doing and I've pretty much given up.

So thank goodness for the girls day out at the football game yesterday.  He was supposed to have gone but I gave his ticket to someone else.

I need to focus on working.   :::::talking to self...focus, focus, focus, focus, rinse, repeat:::::

We had a poop night last night too. I fed the dogs dehydrated raw, forgetting how fast it goes through Rosco.

I woke up at 5 and smelling poop, woke DH we turned on the lights and couldn't find anything. Then I spoted Rosco's rear end, covered in poop and about to explode. DH ran him right outside, and I noticed poop smears all over the room -- including, right between DH and I in our bed. Thankfully, not on either of us, but seriously, right next to my face.Ick!

Needless to say that triggered an early morning sheets change blanket change, etc. So gross.

whew sorry about the poop issues ladies - yuck!  Meg glad you are safe and Stef good luck and as you say focus.

Saturday I took Bugsy for our new class that takes place in a dog park.  I figure this will be his greatest distraction so if he can do obedience there by jove he should be able to do it anywhere.  And by golly he did really well.  The trainer asked us to demonstrate something right when two dobies arrived and were running mad laps (we are in a fenced off section but all is visible) LOL he was totally focused on them and I had to give a little toot on my whistle to snap him out of it. Everyone laughed because he gave me that look like Oh I didn't know you were here Confused

She wants us to change some commands not sure I want to do that

soooooooooooo tired of the hot and sticky weather supposed to break by Wednesday.  It was 77* & swampy  at 6:20 when we headed out for our walk. Bleck

DH is extremly angry at Morrison right now.

We've been experimenting with leaving M&M out of their crates when we are out.  Monroe has does this before and is no problem but Morrison gets bored or something, counter surfs and forages.  He has destroyed a few books that he pulled down so I have "treated" the bookshelves.

We came home yesterday and Morrison had found DH's Blackberry.  He did not destroy it, there are a couple of tooth marks in the corner.  DH is/was furious.  He wants Morrison back in a crate.  So I said "OK, let's close all the windows so that his barking doesn't bother the neighbors though."  Next thing you know, Morrison isn't in his crate anymore.

Yikes - what a weekend.  I bought a new bike to go with Morrison.  He caught on right away!  We went around the block in the rain and he loved it.  I'll have to get a video.

Know you know if that had been your blackberry he would have said "well you should have put it where he couldnt get it."

I got lucky and none of my dogs destroy stuff besides toys.

BUT one little 2lber here is on our last nerves with this pooping!! AngryShe now goes behind the couch thinking I wont find it. Ahhhhhhhhh. Driving me nuts cuz I am the one cleaning it up. And JJ just wants to make her stay outside all the time. I dont know when she even does it because she doesnt get left in the house alone anymore and I "thought" she lets me know when she needs out. Apparently not!

That sounds pretty serious. Sorry you are having such a rough time. *hugs*

On a lighter note, I came back from lunch to rubber chicken guts all over my desk. It's a cute little rubber chicken then when you squeeze it an egg pops out. Apparently the egg sack sprung a leak. RIP Rubber Chicken.

Aww, Steff.. that sucks.  Sending you STRONG COURAGE vibes - they definitely did well for me.

Glad our road trippers are safe.

My coworker passed her licensing exam, so we all get to go out to lunch. Woohoo!

DH is always a pain in the butt when any family member visits but this may be a new record he is already a PIA and his sister and boyfriend don't arrive for 10 days - I really may not make this whole visit!

And Bugsy is on a mission to turn all my hair gray - I just took him to the lake and he went after some geese and just would.not. stop.  He went completely deaf and was waaaaaaaaaaaay out in the lake and I was worried he wasn't even going to be able to hear me any longer.  A couple started whistling and hollering with me. Absolutely ridiculous.  So now I need to go post elsewhere on how to work on recall in the water because he obviously isn't making the connection Tongue Tied

This morning's low was in the 50's. Tomorrow morning should in the upper 40's. Shadow and I are both loving it.

I'm sorry to read about the relationship issue and the poop problems.  And, Bugsy and Morrison, LOL!

We are having our own times with the ongoing Prednisone side effects.  And, Willow is developing a skin issue.  She didn't have good skin to begin with and this medicine is really messing her up.

I've been getting up nightly every couple of hours with her and at this point I'm so tired.  I've been working and even doing overtime all summer.  I just really need some time off.  I keep saying that but never plan it.

Thanks to everyone for your support and those 'strong courage' vibes, I sure need it.  You all are the best.
