Hi guys,
Recently, Hurricane Gustav hit Louisiana right along the Terrebonne-Lafourche parish region. The rescue group that I've worked with for several years has sustained much damage to its kennel. It was destroyed when a large tree fell on it during the storm. 22 large dogs call the kennel their home. Over the years, Hope has worked to build a nice outdoor facility with covered dog runs, running water, timed fans, lights, gutters, etc. This is no longer available to us. We need to rebuild.

$5,000 will be awarded in Disaster Funds to the 2 shelters receiving the most on-line votes. Please vote once a day EVERY day until the October 1, 2008 deadline.
When I started working with HOPE 8 years ago, our kennel was nothing more than chain-linked fencing, houses, etc. Over the years, we've added roofing, concrete, gutters, bug lights, fans on timers, storage areas, dog runs, etc. after much fundraising. Some of our dogs have only known the kennel as their home. It's so sad to see that gone, although I'm sure the dogs are happy to be with foster families.
Please, if you can, vote for us. The group is Hope for Animals. We're in Thibodaux, LA. Please spread the word, repost on Myspace...anywhere where we can get help.
