White wine vinegar is supposed to be the best neutralizer. If you have some, pour it in a bowl and microwave and set it on the counter. Not sure it'll be enough to counteract the entire smell, but it should help,

 I have plain white vinegar.  No white wine vinegar.  do you think that might help a bit?  I have red wine vinegar.

Sorry, it's Friday night, so I'm thinking of wine, but yes, plain white vinegar is what I meant

 Haha... I had no clue.  You could have said Blue Cheese vinegar and I would have gone with it.  I only recently discovered there was more than the plain white kind.

Oh no!  i'm sorry!  I have some lysol odor neutralizer and a febreeze spray, both of which do a pretty good job on "normal" smells.  Never tried them on skunk before, though!

 Well, I can still smell it this morning.  I sprayed Fabreeze last night as i coudn't find the vinegar.  LOL, the dogs would have rather I left the skunk smell.  They HATE Fabreeze.  They walked around snorting and rubbing their noses on the floor.  It also gave me a headache and when the Fabreeze was gone, the skunk was still there.  I must have used that vinegar for something...where the heck would it have gotten to?

Yeah, I think that smell lingers for a very long time. I never have white vinegar around when I need it either but this has been a reminder that I need to pick some up, so thanks for that
