Heart tugging story - dog rescues baby

This story really got to me: http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/americas/08/22/argentina.dog.tale/index.html

    How sweet is that?

    • Gold Top Dog

Very sweet!  How the dog moved the baby without injuring him I don't know...

I hope someone returned the favor and rescued the dog and her puppies. Gotta love third world countries!
    • Gold Top Dog

Awwww, that is so sweet!!!  It's so sweet that she knew what to do so that the baby would be rescued!

    • Gold Top Dog

I don't think she "knew" what to do, and I don't think she did it so the baby would be rescued.  I think her maternal instinct just kicked in and she had an overwhelming instinctive desire to protect and nurture the little one.  Either way I am glad the baby came to no harm.... I just hope the same cannow be said of the dam and her pups!

    • Gold Top Dog

I think mama dog should be given a safe place to raise her pups. I think the infant should be in the care of whatever cps they have down there. I think the mother should be locked up. Eval'd then locked up. I think the baby should be adopted. It would be nice if a family could adopt both infant and dogs. Or do the dogs belong to the guy who reported the incident? I read the article but it didn't say.

I got the impression the dam was feral or stray but you are right... it didn't say.

Labour, birth and the shock of being a new mum can do funny things to some people... for some people it can be terrifying.  We don't know who the father was (was she a rape victim? sheesh that mess anyone up); we don't know what her family life is like, what the birth was like and whether she was well attended... Likely, the young woman needs support, not punishment.  With all respect ron... you might want to save that judgement till you've birthed a kiddo yourself Wink

she had nine months to think about the shock of birth and whether or not she wanted to be a mother..... no excuse for what she did except for maybe extreme mental illness or complete apathy for another living being..

what ever happened to the days when people bundled up their unwanted children and left them on doorsteps? or was that only in disney films!?

Post natal depression IS an illness.  Someone with PND needs medical, professional help, just as surely as someone who has broken their leg.  PND does not always manifest immediately.

     this one manifested immediately.

either way... babies having babies..... it makes me sad.
