    rwbeagles-Eli, the mind boggles...

The kid's mind works in mysterious ways people.

He just came up and was saying P-PPIZZA...POP...right into my face basically...I say  "hey that's great you are making letter P words...like PPPizza.." He ignores me and proceeds to say "under the sea..." what? I said "what's under the sea?" he says..."P-p-p-INEAPPLE!" (spongebob but it's a P WORD)...whoa...no way...coincidence...

He then says "P P patrick lives under a rock!"...omg..."yes Eli great Patrick is another P word..."

he stops and asks ..."what does Squidward start with?" I said...."SSS Squidward starts with S.." and he goes "Sssssquidward...live in a SSSSTONE house"....holy whoa! man oh man...LOL.

I guess Spongebob IS edumakational...I would never have thought to connect the things that way but he carefully found a way to do so...I have heard left handed folks mind work differently and this must be a case of it...I would never have thought this way...LOL. But he did and he was right and he created this game/learning opportunity all on his own.

YAY Eli! Yes yes Spongebob is edumakational! Although I'm alittle afraid to hear a kid go up to a snail and say Meow. Lol.

I think all it takes is for them to be interested in something to use it in a learning sense. Smile

We got him that game Trouble for his birthday...and he had it out the other day and was just counting away as he moved the little pegs. Then he popped the bubble and started counting BACKWARDS from 6 LOL. Lily could not do that until she was in 1st grade I kid you not...lmbo...

Wow! I say Eli needs a big gold star! And a cookie! Lol

I could spell pretty good when I started school and I had 5th grade reading level in Kindergarten thanks to my grandmother. Lol. But counting! No way! I had problems with that until I was 8 and I still suck at math!

Great, now *I* need a cookie!  Thanks!  I am so easily influenced, it's tragic.

Well done Eli Smile  That's a sign of an extreeeemely smart kid Yes

Well done, Eli!!  My DS #2 was like that - very much into letters and the sounds they make.  He turned out to be a very early and proficient reader. Big Smile

Way to go Eli!  It is odd sometimes what kids pick up on that we just totally miss.  And then when I think back on some of the things that I retained as a kid and still go back to on occasion I really wonder.

That's funny.  As soon as I saw that, I thought, would it be rude of me to demand a cookie as well?  Then I saw your post.
