Yeah me too!  My BIL found out when he muttered something about me being a "moody cow" in my hearing in front of 2 of my sisters, 1 brother, my dad and my niece.  I said: "I heard that.  Out.  Get out.  Just get out of my house."  I turned and walked into the kitchen and when I came back he'd gone.  I worried after that I'd overreacted from not being well (migraine, should not have had visitors at all, I should have been IN BED) but as JM says... NO WAY will I be insulted in my own house!  I draw the line right there.  He is polite to me now, at all times, and I am just as polite back... we don't always see eye to eye but the snarky comments (that one was not the first) have stopped.

They left!!!! They left this morning!!!!

When Jeremy was getting ready for work he noticed a lot of their stuff was gone, and his Mom came downstairs and said she didn't realize Jeremy had to work this much (he told her he did though!) so they were leaving. I'm so happy!

Ahhh...I'm in my pj's already with an iced coffee lounging on the couch for the entire day. Believe me I NEED to relax!

YAY!!!!!   **  Doing the happy dance  **

Do you think that was the real reason or did they finally clue in about how disruptive and rude they were being?

I certainly doubt that.  IME people like that seem to be oblivious to those facts.

    Either way tho....YAHOO! They're gone!

    • Gold Top Dog

Hum..I don't know if that was the real reason they left or what, but I don't really care either way! I'm just happy they're out and I don't have to see them for about a year!

I left a lint brush on the bathroom counter- I didn't use it and Jeremy didn't use it, but it's half gone. Think his Mom was getting sick of Apollo's fur everywhere? LOL Stick out tongue

I doubt it, but I wish. We actually have a VERY nice hotel (the Clarion at Nantasket Beach) right across the street from us. I told her my cousin is the manager there and will get them a very nice room on the cheap, and she refused! Guess she liked sleeping on our couches better (we don't have a guest room or anything, they already knew this way before hand).

OMG!! I just got back from a visit to my parents with our toddler twins. For a variety of reasons, mainly their negative attitude about dogs (they stay outside, off the furniture, and really should be left at the pound because they might give the kids germs) I left my geriatric RR mix and my new 100 lb. RR at a doggie daycare. Since the kids daycare gave us vacation credit it made it more manageable to pay a bucket of money so the dogs would live in a converted house and sleep on the owner's bed at night.

Anyway, my parents are incredible neat freaks and judgmental about everything. Having them visit is terrible. Yes, I hire the cleaning service for the bathrooms, floors, walls, kitchen, and also a couple of guys to sweep, rake, do poop patrol, trim bushes, edge the lawn, etc. outside. The house never really passes inspection. Everything we are doing is wrong.

One of the first tasks on returning to town was to pick up the dogs. Was great to see their smiles.  We had called the daycare most days, but I missed them so.My new rescue seems to have settled back in and my old girl seems relaxed.

Anyway, glad to hear I amnot the only one with neat freak non-dog lovers for parents.

Just had to respond to this comment. I gained 20 pounds AFTER my twins were born (plus the 20extra pregnancy pounds left after subtracting babies, placentas, etc.).

I went on Medifast a while ago and lots a bunch of that weight (yeah!). I am no longer obese, only overweight Stick out tongue Anyway, it is so great but has been interesting to see the less than excited comments from co-workers and some friends. I told my mother I was on a diet and had my own food, but could eat a salad and meat meal a day. EVERY meal was "so are you having you shake or eating my food". Since she has beenso critical of my weight gain, I had hoped to get some praise or encouragement.

Ten pounds of weight loss IS noticeable--before you lose the pounds you start losing inches. And to lose weigh on a responsible program like weight watchers thaqt is meant to help you maintain good habits for life is awesome. Keep up the good work!

There are some people that will just never be happy with, or supportive of, anything you do.  Unfortunately, being related to them makes them a bit harder to ignore.
