spin off from camping thread: Stress relief?

OK, pick just one thing (maybe two, but no more!). What is the best stress reliever for you? (besides doing the dirty that is)

    Mine

    1. Camping

    2. Hot tubbing

    1) & 2) Reading a really good book while drinking a really cold vodka and peach iced tea.

     #1 Being active outdoors - walking/hiking/biking/camping/kayaking/golfing alone/etc. - no MP3 player just the world

ultimate of all time for me was backpacking in Montana

#2 Reading or playing trumpet - both can illicit cocoon like feelings

I am an introvert and really need to isolate to get stress relief

    1.  Running

    2.  Horseback Riding

I like things that can exhaust me both mentally, & physically.  Running takes care of the physical aspect, riding takes care of the mental aspect.

    1. Going to a movie alone.  I get my alone/don't bother me time in and get to escape for a bit.

    2. Camping.  There is nothing better than waking up in a tent - nothing.

Being outdoors away from civilization - starting SAR has been incredibly good for me as it means I get at least 2 hours of time in the woods each week and up to 9.5 hours on weeks we have two practices and I hike with a friend.

(it looks like DH may be getting an offer this week for a job, so I have all my digits crossed that we can find a rental in the county where I can actually get some SPACE from others lol)

    1. Hiking with just Apollo.
    2. Christmas shopping. Christmas shopping usually stresses people out, but me, I love it. I shop 2 weeks before Christmas, when the mall is packed, and I honestly just love it. I love walking through the big, busy crowds of people, listening to the music playing, seeing kids getting their picture with Santa... am I crazy? LOL.

ETA, with #2, I feel like I'm in my element, lol. It only comes around once a year, but when it does, nothing could bother me, nothing could touch me. I'm in a constant good mood. Big Smile

    Yes!

Yes, but since you enjoy it, can I give you my list too? Wink

Stress relief for me is anything that allows me to burn it off. On a super stressful day, I can really punish the equipment at the gym. I good long hike would be even nicer though.

Okay I would say this is an age thing BUUUUUUUUUT nope I have never been a roughing it kinda girl..   I have camped in tents, tent trailers, trailers, KOA cabins,  Heck the car a couple of times... I can make anything fun but if I have my druthers I want my RV.  Period. I prefet it to most hotels. and I have stayed in some top notch hotels.  But if we are on main land I just prefer my rig.

We have a twin satellite system allowing me and the Hubs to record and watch ANY thing that is brain comfort food.  The Convection oven microwave helps me cook as simple or gourmet as I want. The fridge is huge, I have an office on board so I can use me lap top and printer if I want to I can knock out photos etc as I want to.  The bed is King Sized with a 4 inch thick memory foam cushion that make seven the bumpiest road easy to ride on. I carry my own fire pit so I can have a campfire at any dog show or event that it is safe allowing us to entertain and relax with friends keeping the dogs very close. The BBQ is easy to use, I can have friends or famliy stay with us, At the Rodeo we had a dear friend with us and a total of 8 dogs on board. I have a gen set so electrical hook up is an option, and the shower has a custom sprayer on it that conserves water by infusing oxegen in to it making even a fast shower  lovely !!

I can get up close and personal with nature but seriously a vacation sleeping on rocks and twigs??   Don't think so.

Spoiled rotten and I know it !!

    1. Riding my horse for sure even when upset, angry, or any emotion it's good for me. Sometimes lets me concentrate on something else.

    2. Dirt biking free & racing (apart from those trees/ruts that jump in my way sometimes hehe) Great way to get anger out better than a horse cause you can get rough with a dirt bike Yes

nope I have never been a roughing it kinda girl..

Me neither. Smile For me, a hotel with no room service is about as "rough" as I want to get.

Camping with nobody around, but the people I go with.  No ammenities, no trailer, no cabin, heck no outhouse even.  A nice fresh lake and a non leaking tent is all I need.  Oh and a weekend when there is no fireban.  Camping with no fire is no fun.

Second would be pulling the mattress into the middle of the living room floor and watching movies all weekend while completely ignoring the clock.  I can't do this anymore obviously with 3 kids, but it used to be fun.
