What do dogs hear when bats are flying around?

• What do dogs hear when bats are flying around? Indy05 Posted : 8/17/2008 12:29:33 PM When I walk my dog early in the morning (twilight) I can see and hear bats.  To the human ear it is a little chirping sound, but what does it sound like to a dog?  They have a keener sense of hearing and since bats use a high frequency sound to locate insects I wonder why the sound does not hurt a dog's ears.  Anyone know?
