Poll: dog walking - how expensive?

Just curious what going rates are for dog walkers? (As in, about half an hour of walking while you're at work - professionals, licensed, etc. etc., not your next door neighbor's grandson or something.)

I just got a quote from a company that is offering $15/day for a mid-day half hour walk, and they would "knock a few bucks off" if other people in my apartment building were having walks around the same time.

I'm wondering if this is about average/reasonable?

$15/day would sure add up pretty quick... but they said they're also on call for "emergencies" ("I have to work until 12 tonight, could you take my dog outside at 7?" or whatever), so it might be nice to have them once a week or something... not sure, it depends whether or not I get the new jobs I'm interviewing for :-p

The company I work for charges $13 a half hour. If you book 3 walks a week, it's $12. I'd say for CA it's reasonable.

I pay $16 for a 20 minute walk. And yes, it does add up.

I'm a dog walker/pet sitter, insured and bonded. I charge $20 for a 30 minute leash walk, and $20 for a 45 minute playgroup (I bring up to 4 dogs to a park "less used" by the public). Honestly, after I get there, get the dog on its leash, go for a walk and make sure they potty, come back wash the bowls (I always do this) and give them a treat I've been there much longer that 30 minutes.

We pay $16 plus tax for Morrison's 1/2 hour walk. We have Grace come in once a week but she is really good and flexible and responds pretty well to our little emergencies. She even let me into the house when I locked myself out once. Since she is self employed there are some times that she is unavailable.

Although we pay for 1/2 for Morrison Monroe gets to go along too, Grace can't resist him and his big brown eyes. The cat gets some attention too. I'm sure that she spends more than 1/2 hour here.

$17 per half hour. It does add up fast so I only use them in emergencies.

$16 for 20 minutes - $70 for 20 minutes M-F.

My dog walker charges $16 per 30 minute walk, but if you reserve for the whole month (5days a week) then it's 10%off.

I've used them since I got my dog at 2months old. Now she's a year and still can't hold it for a whole day while I'm working. I guess this will be a lifetime bill for me
