So Big Foot , Nessie ?? Whatcha believe in ??

    http://news.aol.com/article/scientist-says-bigfoot-fails-dna-test/136118?icid=100214839x1207491082x1200391066

Hey I can no longer tell if I BELIEVE or simply want to believe...  What do all of you think??

I am a die hard Ghost fan.   I simply can not believe that all of the amazing things that create a human being can be snuffed out in a flicker or snap.  Gee you turn the TV off and run your fingers acrossed the screen and traces of electrical impulses can be seen.  A TV is pretty uncomlicated compared to the human mind and body!!

As for Big foot, I have seen some stupid and fakey looking things then you will see a pretty realist snap shot!   Same with Nessie. It is not sooo far fetched that in an isolated DEEP lake some ancient life form could exisit !!

SO come on guys give it up what are  your   YES    /   Maybe   /  and cough cough BS  concepts.... No politics can not be listed...

    ME

    Absolutely  YES----

    Ghosts

    Strong YES ---

    Nessie

    Leprechauns or wee folk

    Maybe after 4 magaritas

    Big Foot

    Seriously doubtful

All righty .... Ghosts - absolutely.  Nessie & Big Foot - yes and yes.  Leprechauns - a big yes, and no margaritas needed. Big Smile After all, my maternal grandparents were from Kerry and Galway. Having said that, I have to admit I was disappointed to see on the news that the DNA found on the "body of Big Foot" was both human and oppossum. Just  because someone decided to have a bit of fun doesn't mean he isn't out there somewhere.

    ghosts, possibly....

    big foot, hell no...

    nessie, quite possbile i think!!

on the same subject, do you guys know those sailor "myths" about the "kraken'? well aparently they found one (dead) somewhere around japan, i think. it was pretty freaking big! and i did hear somewhere that those octupus can be quite agressive at times, so a huge, oversized octupus that attacks a ship... meh, why not? they are freakishly strong, ya know... so yeah, kraken, i believe!

Have you ever seen that poster with the Dal sitting in the middle of all the spotted kitties with the caption "Now Honey -- PLEASE ... I **can** explain!!!!"  rotfl myself silly

Believe?  Yes -- I think it's simply the height of human arrogance to think we're the "only" beings out there, and the only beings to survive the ages in the Universe.  Do I necessarily believe in the "legends" as told? Maybe not ... maybe so ... but I think we rationalize and make things up to explain what may be difficult to assimilate otherwise.

That's not to limit -- that's to essentially leave things wide open -- and essentially I kind feel like anything is possible.

(And darn that fairy Tinkerbell -- where IS her stash of fairy dust anyway ... I wanna fly TOO!)

Ghosts - Yes. I've been visited twice in my life. Real enough for me to believe, aside from the law of physics known as the Law of Conservation of Mass and Energy.

Loch Ness "Nessie" - Possible though maybe difficult to prove. So many people have filmed and sonared that lake and haven't found anything. I don't think Nessie is smart enough to know from underwater whether people up there on the surface have cameras, or not.

Bigfoot - Possible. By the way, there is a another bigfoot. In southeastern Oklahoma. Now, you talking about a sapient primate that could elude detection. I tend to think there is a bigfoot but I've had more personal proof of ghosts than bigfoot.

I lived in a haunted house as a kid.  That place was SCARY. As for Nessie and Big Foot, why not?  Just because WE haven't seen it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.  I also haven't seen Paris, so by that logic, it doesn't exist either! Wink

I won't say much because it makes BF very ashamed of me.  But yes.  I believe in Bigfoot a lot.

Frankly Bigfoot makes sense to me...   There are areas that we haven't touched  and built yet another parking lot on....  Haing the 5 grandkids living with me I can gaurantee you there are places in my own home they can hide that I can not find them !!  My guess is IF there is a Big Foot they are smarter than us and don't want to be around goof offs like the majority of the people they may have seen in the distance!

Who also grew up with a ghost in our home !

I believe in Ghosts. Very much so! thanks to my grandma. Lol. I also have been visited numerous times so yes I do believe.

Loch Ness: Nessie: Well I'm not sure about that one. But I have seen the Ogopogo of the Okanogan lake so if that is real then I guess it isn't all to hard to believe that Nessie is real.

Bigfoot: Due to the location of where I live, this is a big myth around here. I don't believe in it but I'm open to the possiblity that it is real.  And really, I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Smile

I am rather with Stephen King on this subject. There ARE as he says...things living in the corners of the world...just beyond the range of your eyes..those things you think you see or such. BUT our only protection...if we are to live as sane functional folks is to not look for them, or allow them to find us or call us by name.

In short...I don't mess with supernatural stuff because if you do it can then feel free to mess with you.

As to actual flesh and blood critters? No. The world as Roland of Gilead would say has simply moved on to the point where such critters would be outed or discovered by now. As the saying goes...there is nothing new under the sun!

My mind is wide open to possibility but I can only vouch for what I've actually seen myself.....ghosts.

I believe in bigfoot. I've seen one - or something. About 8 years ago DH & I were on vacation in Moab, UT. We went mountain biking and were camping here http://www.canyonlandsrv.com/tents.html Our campsite was level, then there was a simple wooden fence, then the ground sloped down into a wooded ditch/ravine kind of area. It was dusk and we were hanging out by the campfire. Some movement down in the ravine caught my eye, so I got up and leaned against the fence. I saw something - a dark animal, hobbling along the dirt path at the bottom. I called DH to come over and see. We just stood there frozen, speechless, trying to figure out what in the heck it was, not even believing our own eyes. I'd guess it was about 100 lbs, dark, hairy. It walked like a gorilla on all fours (two front feet down, then swing two back feet up), then it would stop and get up on its back legs and sniff some bushes. It had a larger upper body then lower. It was dark out because of the shadows from the trees, and about, oh, 50 yards away or so, so it was hard to get a good look. And of course not pics because I couldn't take my eyes of if.

It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen, and I've never seen anything like it since. I have no idea what it was. I thought it was an escaped gorilla from a zoo, but as far as I know there are no zoos around there. I thought about telling the camp hosts/owners, but I was afraid of looking like a fool. I shouldn't have cared. When we got home I kept checking online to see if there were any other reports of it, but there wasn't.

I did ... once.  I spent one afternoon long, long ago trying to use a Ouiji board to pick the horses in Sunday's race at Caliente.  It didn't work, but I'm ready to give it another try .... maybe this time for lottery numbers.
