    Hearing Protection for Dogs? (gradyupmybutt)

Last night DH & I went to see King Crimson.  AWESOME show but very loud.  There was a woman there with a service dog.  I believe the dog was a seeing eye dog.  Seeing the dog made me wonder if there is such a thing as hearing protection for dogs?  The whole point of a service dog is to help impaired people lead normal lives, right?  What if the person wants to do something that might put their dog @ risk like going to a loud event?

I'm almost positive that a member here has a picture of her dog at an air show with headphones on.  It's a great picture and shows that dogs will wear them.

It would be horrible for a service dog to have hearing loss that affects their work!

oh man! I wear earplugs @ concerts becuase I want to hear when I'm 50, I also play bass & dont want to loose any of my 'range' in my hearing. ( I started wearing earplugs to concerts & during practice sessions when I was 16 or 17, yes I know i'm weird. lol)   I would hope there is something that the dog could wear.  the headphones sound like a great idea.  I would imagine that music that loud would be painful for the dog!  it hurts my ears!

Wow - that brings back memories !!  When I was around 16 - 17, I thought Robert Fripp was my personal saviour !!!  I'm 47 now, so that was a while ago.  I didn't even know the band was still together.  You must have had the BEST time !!!

I just hope that the owner did have hearing protection for her service dog.

Deb, it was an awesome show!  Fripp was his usual standoffish self but rockin.  Adrian is one of my guitar gods.  He was right on.  Tony Leven was, wow!  They get together every now & then.  We saw them 10 years ago for their 20th (?) anniversary tour.  They're only playing in 4 cities & we met some people who have traveled pretty far to see them.

Hehehe, I guess I just hijacked my own thread. ~L~

I bet the Mutt Muffs would also be good for thunder-phobia.
