I'm just glad to hear that you're okay. Thinking good thoughts for you and your neighbors.

Yikes!  You were close to it!  I am glad you are okay!!!!  My great aunts and more family was evacuated.  My nona would have had to be evacuated, but she was at my house.

Do you know if the fires are still burning'?

The fires are mostly out...there are still some spot fires going...
We came back home as it wasn't a mandatory evacuation...
Talus needed to be fed anyway...

Only a few people are around the neighborhood...
We are about 600 yards away from the explosion...(my guess)

Edit: it's actually 450 yds my hubby says....1350 feet....

If you go to google maps and type in murray rd toronto, you'll see the propane plant and to the west is a cemetary, then the school yard and then our street....

Our cell phones have been ringing off the hook...
We're going to try to settle down now and get some rest..

So glad to hear you, Tim and Talus are OK and your home is safe.  Good calming thoughts to you.

Wow - Maria, I saw the title of the thread and thought to myself before I opened it, "I hope that wasn't near Maria and Tim and Talus!"  I'm so glad you're all okay and your home didn't suffer any damage.  I can't imagine the sound and the sensation.  We had a 5.3 earthquake here several years ago and the sound and motion of that stayed in my memory for a long time.  I can't imagine how much louder and scarier that must've been for you guys - all of you (Talus too) must have had skyrocketing blood pressure after the initial explosion!  Again, I'm really glad you're okay!
