    I love the response...

from my dogs after I've been away for a week!

DH and I went away for one week to a family member's place on a lake in New York (no dogs allowed Sad  )  The dogs stayed with my mom and sister while we were away.  They were definitely pampered, but because of my mom's allergies they had to stay in the basement.  After about day 4 I guess Buster got pretty depressed (which is why I hate leaving him) and stopped eating for about a day and a half.  He was also unsure of where he wanted to be (inside/outside).  He just wanted me to come back.  My sister said she cuddled with him to help him feel better, but he just seemed sad (and probably stressed).

But as much as I hate to leave the dogs for any length of time, I love coming home to them.  I got to my mom's around 7:30 last night to pick them up.  I opened the basement door and Max was the first to greet me; he just ran up the stairs and started whining and wiggling all over.  For about ten minutes they made a big fuss over me and then calmed down a bit.

When I tried to take their things out to the car, they all decided they had had enough of grandma's house and they all ran out to the car and hopped in.  Stick out tongue  Nothing like the love from your dogs to make you feel good!  After being on the go for 9 hours that day (It's really only a five hour drive, but we stopped off at Niagara Falls), that was just what I needed!

Isn't that the BEST??  I hatehatehate leaving the dogs eventhough I know that they're very well cared for.  The welcome homes are the absolute BEST

    YES, the best feeling EVER!

Rory whines, OH how she whines as she zooms around me in circles. She can't even stop to let me hold her but its a fly by body brush because she cant contain herself., LOL! Last time she grabbed every toy on the floor and dropped them at my feet like "grandma bought me this and this and this". The frantic whining is what does it for me, it melts my heart!

Your dogs call your mom 'grandma' too? I think last year Pirate had more presents under the Christmas tree than I did!! AND he got a stocking! AND when Pirate encountered the bee the other day, and I had to go to work, my mom came over to sit with him to 'make sure he was OK'. When I have a cold or something she won't even come over!

Pirate usually stays home when I'm away, since my brother (his 'brubbie';) lives with us and will take care of him for me. But my gosh, the 'RooOOoOoOOoOoOoOoOOOoOOOoo'-ing that occurs when we get home, I think the neighbors must wonder what we're doing.

Awww, that's sweet!  I get the "I hate you" eyeball and cold shoulder from Woobie whenever I leave him anywhere but home, even day care for the day.  Indie just tackles me, but I'm not sure he's attached enough yet to know he's here for good, he'd been moved along a bit before I got him, so I think when he's dropped off places, he thinks it's just another foster home.  Sometimes I get the sad face when I'm leaving him, that one breaks my heart, I wish there was a way to let him know it's not goodbye forever.
