Mindless Chatter 2x Tuesday!

    Mindless Chatter 2x Tuesday!

My friend and I have a running joke about '2 times Tuesday' - I think it used to be some kind of ad when we were in high school.

The townhouse that's attached to ours is getting a new rooftop AC unit - oh JOY. They've been up there since 8AM making construction noises and lemme tell you these guys are quite profane. Poor Pirate thinks the sky is falling, or something.

    Is it Friday yet?!

2 times Tuesday was an add for Dominos.  I think it was a buy-one get-one type thing, but I'm not sure.  I just remember the commercial w/ the manager going, "Can I get a HOO-HAH 2x Tuesday?" and none of the employees said anything so a customer, very meekly, said "hoo-hah 2x tuesday"

We've had roofers making obnoxious noises since last week (they had to replace a lot of wood) and my dogs have been SOOOOOOO over it since last week Wednesday it hasn't been funny.

They can't even go out and concentrate on the "business at paw" for strangers appearing on the roof and making NOISES!!  This morning even BILLY gave a quick "Ba-roooooPP!!" at one of them (and he never barks at stuff like that - if it's ok wif Mom it's OK wif him!!)

I don't know if it's profane or not -- because it's all in Spanish, and even "CLOSE MY GATE" has been beyond them!!  Everyone but Kee has had a turn at getting out and running amok since last week (Luna and Tink several times) but I think the last time I complained to the higher ups and threatened to make them clean up all my dog poop for a week MAY have gotten the point across!!

Oh yeah! It was a Domino's commercial.

Nah, these are all stoner-beach-bums types, so they speak English, but jeez! The way our house and patio are shaped Pirate's been banned from going outside on the patio because he can see and hear them up there and he barks up a fit. He's a true terrier! So he is sulking BIG-time.

Ha, I can see Kee running amok - well, er, wandering amok. She can't go very far very fast, huh?

In other mindless news, my boyfriend now has a cell phone again, since he lost his at a party two weeks ago. I'm pretty glad that he's in contact with the outside world again.

Today is Friday for me!  I am on vacation for the rest of the week after today and looking so forward to it! My step daughter and I are going to see the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants tomorrow and all three of us are going to a Rangers/Yankees game on Thursday. Then we have to send her home on Saturday which I am already getting really sad about. \:\(

I just had the tastiest brownie that I made for hubby's birthday the other night.  I sure hope there is another one left when I get home.  I bet he ate the rest of them!

Poor Pirate, I know how you feel.  Anytime there is anyone outside the front window, even across the street, Izzy throws a huge fit until she can't see them anymore!  And dare they ring the doorbell for any reason you would think she was going to come unglued.  When we know people are coming over we put her in the backyard and let them come in and then tell them to ignore her and she will stop barking pretty fast and let her in, but unexpected visitors mean I have to carry and screaming, squealing, twisting dog to the backyard and try not to get scratched while her alarm is going off!  Gosh she is high strung sometimes.  It is usually only a matter of minutes before she has jumped into one of those strangers laps!

Whenever I'm having work done (or a neighbor is) Max doesn't bark. Smile He just goes outside and sits by the hose spigot, looking as pathetic as he can in the hopes that whatever is going on involves someone having to turn the hose on for him. When the new lawn and sprinklers were going in, he sat out there for two days.  They actually thought he was an outside dog and were quite surprised to find out he wasn't.

LOL we have a plumber doing something currently and Bugsy's main concern is that he hasn't been able to greet him - he has his two rubber bones in his mouth and has now fallen asleep like that - he was whining for ages

Bugsy my guard dog - NOT

why do men say sort something out and then tell you how you didn't do it like they would ? Angry

Because they are men.  That's what they do.Stick out tongue

I am having an absolute crap day.  I left work at noon, because I couldn't focus.  DH & I had a misunderstanding last night, & it has carried over to today.  (This is our first real fight since the wedding.)  The day would have been bad enough without having to deal with him in a pouty mood.  I know that, at some point, I will have to try to discuss things with him.  I'm just not ready to deal with it quite yet.

Maybe, I'll just go curl up in bed for a while..

Oh I am so there with you!

I just had to convince the plumber to leave the job as is - then come back tomorrow and get it sorted before DH gets home.  Totally ridiculous.  DH was just evil on the phone to me earlier too - Thank goodness for Bugsy that is all I can say.  At least he only has one mood - deliriously happyBig Smile

I think that you are doing better than me.  DH isn't speaking at all right now.

Are you interested in a dog swap?  Any time that I'm in a bad mood, Bevo acts pathetic.  He follows me from room to room checking on me.  He puts his ears back, & gives me the "are you ok, mom" look.  It's sweet, but I think that "deliriously happy" would be a fun change.

Fights suck :( Sorry things are unhappy for you right now.

You're welcome to borrow Rascal - whenever BF and I have a serious tiff, Rascal knows the deal and "guards" me from him. If he tries to come near me, Rascal growls and postures like crazy. Then I have to go and put him in his crate for "time out," but the sight of him so "involved" in our "fight" usually makes us realize that we're both being a little silly ("do *we* look that ridiculous when we're mad?!";), so we start to laugh at it a little bit and move on.

So sending you some growly papillon thoughts. Wink

Oh, Amanda, I'm sorry.  I could Fed Ex you Onyx if you want.  She's like Bugsy in that she only has Really Really Happy or Asleep.  And the Asleep mode is very lightly defaulted to the Really Really Happy one.

No such luck on the Friday induction.  There is no surgeon in on Friday so I have to wait till Monday.  But if she's not here by then, I get a baby on Monday.  I'm hopeful that I'll go before then though.  I've had some pretty severe contractions over the last few days, so I'm hoping my body is gearing up.  Time for the licorice I think.  Whats the other thing?  Unripened Papaya?  Oh and I have to stay in a hands and knees position as much as possible too.  Baby is thinking that a sunny side up delivery is the way to go.  Did that with Kale, don't want to do it again.

My poor niece has been stuck babysitting her cousins for the last few weeks.  She's getting pretty sick of it.  These kids are bad.  They get no consistant discipline.  They have a naughty chair, and to give you an idea of how well it works, the last time they went to my sister's house, the older kid told his mom that Auntie Tracey doesn't have a naughty chair, so that means they have to actually listen when they go to her house.  So don't get me wrong, I have nothing against time outs if they are used properly, but sending 2 boys under the age of 5 to timeout, together and then just setting a timer is not the right way.  They don't even have to sit quietly or anything.  Heck they don't even have to quit fighting, just stay in the general vicinity of the chair.  And when the timer goes off, they're free.  Nobody has been able to get through to my brother and his wife about this.  When they try, she just says that she doesn't believe in spanking her kids.  Um...cause thats the only other option?

So understandably, my niece is getting tired of sitting for them.  Add the badness of the kids to the fact that she's barely paying her, and that she is having to pay for her own gas to get to their house which is a half hour out of town, AND that the parents don't come home when they say they will, which has made Megan late for 2 ballgames and work once.  (My niece is on baseball scholarships so ballgames are a big deal) I told her to tell her uncle that I needed her to help me this week get things ready for the baby, and then I'll need her help after the baby gets here.  I mean, its true, I could really use the help.  I hope something works out for her.

ah Amanda been there way too many times - DH has an awful temper and he nor any member of his family are terribly emotionally mature.
Just stinks as I am a real pushover and HATE confrontation.  The only reason DH is speaking to me and it is barely is because when he said terrible things I just agreed with him.  Started doing this a few months back (married 11 yrs now so it took a while to figure out how to deal with it) and can honestly say that in OUR situation it tends to lessen his mood.  It gets better faster - and really I am sort of laughing inside because it is so ludicrous.

I hope that things get sorted out sooner rather than later and I would send you Bugsy in a heartbeat to help out.  He could bring you many things in order to get you to play and you could whip out his ginormous frisbee and all would be laughing- trust me you'd laugh.  Hang in there

Candace, you've convinced me...I'll take Onyx!  Aren't you supposed to do lots of walking in an attempt to speed things along?  I think that I've heard that before.

Karen, I'm the opposite.  I am the quick tempered one, & DH is the more calm, laid back one.  He's more apt to pout than I am.Confused

Luckily, he is good at realizing that he has overreacted.  Tonight he eased over to the couch with me, & said "I kinda overreacted, huh?"  I just agreed, & let it go.  He hopped up, kissed me on the forehead, & walked out of the house.  He came back with a bottle of tequila, a bag of gummi bears, & a bouquet of lilies.  He knows me too well!

I'll still take Bugs & his ginormous frisbee though!
