I have a date for the first time in 3 years!!(kle1986)

JJ and I had a talk, for those of you who have read my other post. Well it didnt seem to do any good. So I have been ignoring him for the past 3 days. That seemed to do the trick. He came home this morning and asked me if I wanted to go do something this weekend. Just me and him!!!

He said on the way to work yesterday he started thinking and did realize he does ignore me all the time and we never do anything without Samantha. He said he wouldnt get on the computer so much too. I told him I didnt have a problem with the computer. I had a problem with him asking me if I want to watch a movie with him and then he turns around and sits at the computer during the movie instead of with me.

Anyways I have a date for the first time in 3 years!!! And I get to pick any movie I want. Thought about torturing him and watching Momma Mia but I'll be nice and pick something he'll like. But we are eating wherever I want!!!

That's great, Kimberly!  You must have planted a seed that got him thinking.  Enjoy!

    Party!!!

Way to go!  You got him thinking and made him feel important to you, it was great of him to suggest a date.

I know some parents that do their best to NOT talk about the kids while on date night.  At the very least it might be fun to bet on who will last longer  Big Smile

    Have a great time!!

That's wonderful! I think it's great you are going to pick a movie you will both enjoy, and that is exactly the kind of thing that will help bring you closer -- small, thoughtful things. Enjoy your night out!

    That's awesome, congrats!!!!!!

Remember to practice your POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT as much as humanly possible. Thank him for taking you out, tell him how much it means to you that he was willing to spend special time with you, make it a fun (but no-pressure!) experience for him, too! Maybe you can get creative with your choice of attire and have a good time once you get home from the date, too... Angel

Remember he might "mess up" and be grumpy or something while you guys are out together, so don't get too upset, just focus on the positives (like that he's trying, even if he's not "doing it right";) and try to stay up beat and cheerful and I bet he'd come around. :) (At least, that works with my BF, who on occasion can be the sulky-est person on the planet!!)

I'm so glad you and JJ were able to talk a bit, and that he was willing to re-consider his behavior. He must love you an awful lot - men don't seem to like admitting when they're wrong! Stick out tongue
