    Help finding Cremation Services ?

I know this is not a fun topic but our friends who normally provide this service in Mississippi are having health problems.  My girl only has a few days left at best I need ot find another provider but when I try to google it between the tears and weird responses that pop up I am lost. I promised her she would be rejoined with her mate .  Any cyber gurus out there??  driving is not a problem My home zip is 36535. Help please !!

That's the only one I've found so far - they are in Foley. Does your vet have a service they use? I know down here, we have a guy the next county over that a lot of clinics use - but he's not the only one around. He's a fantastic person, too bad you're not closer.

When Winnie passed, the Vet did ask about it, and arranged cremation for us with a company locally (and we are a small town).  Hugs....

Bonita, I'm so sorry you're having to deal with something like this. ((((Hugs))) Any vet should be able to steer you in the right direction.  My vet took care of everything and I just went back there to pick up the ashes. I didn't have to deal with the actual cremation.

Bonita -- the big thing I will tell you is that you have to ask **specifically** for her to be cremated completely *ALONE*.  Tell them that you specifically want her done alone, with no other animal done at the same time and you want them to ensure that you will get back her ashes and **ONLY** her ashes.

Your vet honestly should know this -- this is a hot topic out there now and you will likely pay double of a 'normal' cremation service.  Ask to get the ashes back, but make a huge deal that you want her cremated absolutely alone and with no other at the same time.

Suffice to say I didn't know this before -- and wished I had.

    Bonita,

I am very sorry that you are so close to have to say farewell to Jasmine. You are both so very brave. My heart goes out to you. I wish I could help you more but I just don't have the words.

Here are two places that I found that are not too far from where you are. They do not seem to have a website.

Thank you to everyone ,  amazingly my friend in Mississippi had her adult son call me , he offered his cell number and told us he would remain on stand by for any call,   My friend suffered a huge thyroid imbalance and was unable to speak on the phone.  But all of the messages we had been leaving both out of concern for herself and her husband made her wonder if Jasmine was okay.

Isn't it odd the way the Universe hooks you up with phenomenal people? She and her husband are in their 80s , both in poor health. We met them 2 years and 31 days ago when Bo crossed the bridge.  They were so incredibly kind.   When we returned to pick up our boy we sat with them for what must have been hours.  Later we returned with a few small thank you gifts,  Chianti for Al and a gorgeous orchid for Elaine. They invited us to return when ever we had the time and me made it a point to try to do so every couple of months. We would sit and chat about the adventures they had shared over pizza and wine or beer.  Their wolfhounds wandering about , the IW X , Maggie sweetly begging. I have always made sure I had pockets full of treats for them.

I will be keeping all of the contacts the exceptional folks on this list found for me.  sadly my friends will not always be there and I still have a huge pack.  Thank you all so much for doing the cyber leg work on such a hard  task .

I know I will have to make the call , I am praying she has a few more days . She has  great appetite and knowing her time is limited means NOTHING is restricted anymore.  She enjoyed chocolate birthday cake tonight and a small glass of Disorano , an amaretto Liqueur that she has often stolen sips of.  Tomorrow I will pick up all of her favorite treats and we will dole them out over the weekend.

She is still ready to follow me through out the house, her steps are slower and sometimes falter.  She struggles now to get up on the bed. And I am keeping her in a t shirt to keep her from washing the tissue over the tumor. The metastasizing of the cancer has been fast and relentless.

I am trying to find the ability to convince her that I can handle her need to go, to join Bo and to be well once more. We have talked about how I know she will continue to love and watch over us from across the bridge.  The family and I are being very open with each other, trying to answer the kid's questions and dry their tears keeps my own at bay. My Husband has been only a phone call away , checking on her all day . He asked only that I try to help her hold on till his day off so he can be there with us. She and I will never be far apart. And she can trust us to keep our promise.... when she is ready ... We will help her to cross.

    Thank you again my friends,
