He's an idiot for not going to a military hospital becauuuuuuse??

He is an idiot period..........and you don't get the military connection, that's ok, though.

More info on the military hospital thing:

The hospital trip was canceled b/c the Pentagon called it "political" and part of the campaign; the Obama camp decided it would be inappropriate to use wounded soldiers in a political campaign.

I'm going to guess here that like any other presidential candidate travelling abroad, he has a lot of security and a set itinerary that he has to stick to.  I doubt very much that he gets to pick and choose where he wants to go. Not stopping at a hospital, military or otherwise, hardly makes him an idiot.

He canceled the trip to a military hospital in Landstuhl.....touring the town was more important.

So you would approve of a candidate visiting a hospital of wounded soldiers as part of a political campaign? I think it would have been inappropriate.  What if some of those soldiers aren't Obama supporters?  I would certainly not appreciate being a puppet for someone's campaign, especially if I was wounded, overseas, and serving my country.

Yeah, you are right......but, it is certainly more appropriate rubbing elbows with the europeans for his campaign.

Well, he would have gone to the hospital if the Pentagon hadn't advised him not to and considered it a campaign move.  I'd rather see him get out and meet people, tour, and speak than sit in the hotel room doing nothing b/c of the cancellation.

Well, if we apply your logic then no politician should ever visit any military hospital.

Oh, and going to Europe is not a campaign move?

Going to Europe is definitely a campaign move.

I am surprised that miliary families are not supporting Obama. Given the current condition of our miliarty. The miliarty had to get a loan to make payroll in June, felons are being allowed to wear the uniform. We can't even afford to arm our soilders or take care of their mental and physical needs once they come home tramatized and wounded. It's a disgrace and our miliarty deserves better.

Bush's intentional decision to mislead the American public, so he could invade Iraq (not focus on hunting the terrorists in Afghanistan, but invade Iraq) has been the single biggest mistake of his presidency, and our men and women in uniform are the ones paying the price. Bush basically said, I don't care that our nation's bravest men and women will die, I'd rather invade Iraq.

I hate to break the news to you but any politician up for re-election is on a campaign even while occupying a seat in the Senate or the House of Representatives.

Do you have first hand experience with inprocessing procedures?

Felons are allowed to vote after they are released.

I do not. I also don't think that takes anything away from my post.

Not all, and not without some rules or steps needed. And in fact the Gov. here in Kentucky just restored the right to vote to 790 convicted souls.
