Tinkerbell update (just a pic or two)

I'm at work but it's vet night and I'll never get this posted otherwise.

I'm not even going to put this 'in' here but this is what this dog looked like just over four weeks ago: http://community.dog.com/members/calliecritturs/photos/picture636726.aspx

This was last weekend (it's been in photos but dunno if anyone has seen it).  It's up close so you can see the skull still needs some coverage and that's still the area that needs th most new growth of hair.

    THIS was this past weekend:

Pretty awesome -- she's actually at the place where she SHOULD be the 'worst'.  It's about 2 1/2 -3 weeks after the spay, shots, and all the huge stressors that involved adopting her -- and that's typically when demodex stressors trigger worst.  So I'm pretty darned pleased.

The leg hair is ALL new growth -- I'm not having to keep her covered outside which given this 100+ degree heat is awesome.

Of course you can see how ratty my yard looks (the pump is dead so I can't water the lawn) but exposed roots would be even worse IF she were going to react this would do it.

I'm thrilled with her progress.  And she's a general all-round cutie pie anyway.

Callie, you are a rock star! She looks great, and I can only imagine how great she feels.

is that the famous tink-frown? i think it is almost time to add her to your signature, huh? weee...

Holy crapola, Callie! She looks terrific! Look at all that fuzz!

    • Gold Top Dog

Yay!  Her progress is just amazing!  I'm so glad you found a way to work everything out so that you could get her.  You've completely changed her life and I'm sure she is grateful, and HAPPY!

David would love to take credit for isolating the scowl, but no that's just "the sun is in my eyes" foo.  LOL  When she really scowls the forehead all scrunches up -- but the kewel thing is, she hasn't HAD to scowl much at all since being with us.

Altho she really can NOT figure out why I object to her chewing on the corner of the arm of the futon -- darned thing is in the right place, absolutely the right size for a puppy mouf, HOLDS STILL for a tugging, chewing pup, and ... well, tastes like Mom 'n Dad!!  So wassup Mom?  Howcomed you got all upsetted ... again??

WhooHoo!!!! Yea Tink!!!!!  Callie, I was looking forward to new clothes for Tink but this is soooo much better!!!  She looks great and she can play outside like all little puppies should!

Oh but she's a doll Smile  I'm thrilled for all three of you.... cannot imagine how happy that lil Pug pup must be.  She must think she's in heaven!

Chuffy, probably more than most can appreciate this -- remember my husband's a Scot.  He doesn't have to use aversive methods -- all he has to do is *** those shaggy red eyebrows of his, and use that Burrr to full flavor and say "Oh .... I am **so** dis-a-POINT-ed ... you KNOW the rules!  No chewing on the futon!"

He gets that WIDE-EYED look above --

It took her a few days but she's figgered out he's a 'good guy' (I don't think she's had much experience with men period ... but he's so gentle).

I think she'd heard LOTS of yelling (and learned to ignore it) -- and the word "no" wasn't in her vocabulary.  But for such a young pup she's amazingly good.  I haven't had to crate her at night beyond the 2d night.

Luna's about to wear herself out trying to keep her out of trouble -- she and Billy both do the parenting thing -- they know what will get her in trouble and both of them try to head that off at the pass (Luna even more than Billy).

She wears poor Luna's butt ragged -- she's 1/3 of Luna's length but she's faster than greased lightning -- but Luna LOVES to have someone to play with.

I'm SO thrilled we got the contact allergy under control fast -- it helps that I don't have St. Augustine sod (what little grass I DO have *sigh*), but it's been awesome that I've been able to do such successful battle with the inflammation.  My 'regular' vet was totally prepared for her to lose hair all over again and it just ain't happening!! RAH!!!

Congrats Callie - she is looking sooooooooooooooooo good!

    • Gold Top Dog

OMD!  Callie, she has come a lonnnnng way baybee!  I'm not a big Pug fan but she is soo stinking cute.  Has she figured out that she hit the puppy lottery yet?

    • Gold Top Dog

I tend to think she has -- she is trying SOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard not to screw up.  Her accidents are few and far between -- she doesn't 'ask' -- she just tries hard to 'hold it' and then Luna *tells* me when she or Kee Shu (who has decided if the pup can't hold it neither can she!) screws up.  And Lil Mis Tink truly has the mega 'guilty look' -- I've rarely ever seen a dog with such an expressive face -- her eyes are the window to her soul.

It will take her a while because we are SOOOO verbal with the dogs.  Yes, we really expect a lot of 'language' learning out of them -- but it pays off so in the long run.

David took me to Epcot for my birthday last weekend, and we ran amok on Tink "pins" (yep, Stephanie -- ME and pins! LOL).  David was worse than I was!!

She's going to be pretty easy to train for pet therapy -- but staying "down" is gonna be tough for her.  She's liddle and wants to get "up" to see all the time.  and LEAPING is just in her nature.  Pugs, I swear, were born with springs for legs.  Sproinnnggggggggg and she's 5 feet in the air!!  I've seen cricket-moles less able to fly!! Tinkerbell is SUCH a good name for her!!

Pixie dust?  man, she gets pixie dust and I"m a dead woman! LOL

    • Gold Top Dog

I thought it was fairy dust? Big Smile

Hey can you teach her to play dead and then "spring" back to life when you clap your hands?  Peter Pan fans under the age of seven would love that Smile

Gonna have to, Chuffy -- that was the way she got named!!  That one morning when she scowled so much when David was taking all our 'stuff' to the car and SHE was left (with only lil ole me) in the room WITHOUT the stuff (where's the stuff going??) --

I saw that scowl and I said ok ... now if you drink poison and die and I have to clap my hands to bring you back I AM just gonna name you Tinkerbell!!

And David just laughed and said "Oh just DO it!!"
