    Mindless Chatter - Happy Monday!

What's with the graphic on Google's search page? Is there some sort of holiday today that I don't know about?

This was a long weekend. I had friday off work so that I could stand up in my friend's wedding. We had a nice italian dinner after and it was nice. 5 min wedding. All weddings should be that fast!

Sat was sheep herding. Neiko was being a butt head. While I wasn't watching he squeezed through the gate to the large sheep enclosure. There were at least 30 sheep including mama's and babies in there. He had himself a grand old time chasing them all around. He chased one through the fence and broke it!!!! Then when I finally got him out of there he wouldn't work because chasing was so much more fun. We are going to a different farm for a lesson tomorrow just to see how he'll do in a different setting. He better shape up or I'm going to have a wall ornament hanging in my garage made out of silky blue merle aussie fur!

Did I mention that he peed on 3 people at the aussie fun day and then peed on me at the dog park a few days later? Butt head.

For some good news, Abbie is really coming along with her training! She's such a smarty pants. She's getting stay and leave it down pretty well.  I am also working on her balance. I have a wobbly step stool that I had each dog (except Dakota) get up on and balance. Abbie climbed right up no problem. Actually Neiko was the only one that hesitated because he's quite a bit bigger than the other 2. He did it though. The goal of this exercise is to get them towards balancing on me for frisbee tricks.

Yesterday I was supposed to clean out my old car and get it up for sale but I did yard work, laundry and took the dogs to the dog park instead. So, the goal for tonight is to clean the car!

I need four parts for my camera - an extra battery, a remote shutter release, a lens hood, and a UV filter.  My task is to see if I can find ONE company that sells all of these things and can ship them together....

    Monday YUCK!!!!

I had a non eventful weekend. I needed one of those. Saturday we took Max and Belle to a metro park for a walk and a swim, I really like that park. The bugs are so bad this year though. I put on repellent but the pesky little buggers found areas I missed. My ankles have TONS of bites on them.

We got home mid afternoon, I turned on the TV and promptly fell asleep on the couch. Woke up ate dinner, watched Spiderman III (yuck) and went to bed. I slept until 9AM on Sunday. That is LATE for me. I need a few more days like that but I do feel better.

Yesterday I rode my horsie, he was a good boy, and took Belle for a bike run. She was great. I think her flipping the bike scared her too. She has been PERFECT since on walks and on bike runs. She didn't mean to hurt me.

I have a bug bite or an ingrown hair folical on the inside corner of my right eye that is driving me nuts. It itches, and it is tender when you touch it. It is not red, and no swelling but argh. I have not worn my contacts since Friday. I am hoping tomorrow I can again.

This is Teddi's reserve list week 6 I plan to email the surgeon later in the week to see if we can start low impact activity. She is just going nuts and driving us and the other dogs nuts too. She has not limped in over 6 weeks (knock on wood) I am hopeful he will ok it. Then she can swim to her hearts content and wear herself out.

    The skeeters! So bad!

I don't have much to do today - I have to run to the bank for my mom, visit a few cats, and then to Wal-Mart to pick up my prescription. I think I might call my sis and see if she wants to hang out by her apartment complex's pool.

Speaking of my sis, I bought her the most hilarious t-shirt for her dog Jack, because it was on clearance for $3. Sorry it's a fuzzy pic, I had to take it with my phone.

Ann, I must have missed whet's going on with Teddi, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that she can go back to low impact exercise soon!

I should be busy already, but I just haven't gotten moving.  Apparently, today is "dr" day.  I have a drs appointment, Bevo has a vet appointment, & my stallion is being gelded today.  I didn't want to have him gelded, but with me taking a break from riding, he has became even more difficult to handle.  He's thrown two accomplished riders in the past week, & now nobody really wants to get on him.  As soon as he is healed, he will be on his way to a trainer to relearn manners & such.

Gelding is a 'humbling' procedure. It should mellow him out. What's his breeding? Obviously you had hoped to breed him. Sorry!

Of course as I read what I just typed my gelding Sayler had the buck of the century right up to the day he died. So it may not stop that. We did learn to control it. We had to play by "his" rules and life was good.

Hover your mouse ofver it and it says it is Beatrix Potter's birthday - I went to her house when I lived in England!

Updated B's butt issue in the Health thread - he's fine yippee but has gotten bigger - 107.8lbs they said he is still at an excellent weight - plenty of rib, spine, tuck, hipbone etc  - I totally wasn't expected that.

    Yea Belle!

Good luck Amand ( Bevo and stallion)

    OK must run

Today was the first day in 2 weeks, that I got to drive my truck to work ( It was in the shop, needed fuel pump ). I have been driving DH's dad's 1990 ford festiva, and wow let me tell you there is a huge differance between the two. Took me 600$ to bail the truck out, ouch =(.

One of my co-workers quit today, so it's just me and 2 other girls. Hopefully someone gets hired soon. Indifferent

I once paid $300 to fix the tail lights in my '94 Volvo. I needed some obscure part, imported from Sweden. The guy installed it in literally 5 seconds.

I got scratched by a cat today, at work. Dang cat. It's right on the fatty part of my palm and it bled *everywhere*. I hope I don't get cat scratch fever. The cat is unvaccinated, because (oddly enough) she has the same condition that Pirate had! She's on prednisone, which is why she can't be vac'd. I think I'll live. I rewarded myself with an iced latte from DD. Mmm.

Meg, that t-shirt is REALLY FUNNY!!  I love it!!

Today is Gracie's Gotcha Day.  I cannot believe it's been FIVE years since she came home with me as a chubby, knock-kneed little puppy with giant ears!  I love her so much!  She really is such a good dog!  She slept in bed w/me while BF was gone and she is a MUCH better bed partner than he is.  Even when she shifts around, I never wake up.  But I KNOW when she has to go out - I will wake up right away.  We just "know" eachother so well.  She's a doll.

Today has been great so far - I am feeling very loved!  Better birthday than some in the recent past!

Yeah, I know :) the guy at the store was trying to flirt with me, when I bought it. I just wanted to be like, 'hey, it's a gift! I haven't been singe in a long time!' but I didn't.

Sweat.....drip, drip, drip....sweat....soooooo hotttt!  It may be time to go back into the pool.

I am happy today.  I got the boys in on my 15 minute power tidies.  We assigned numbers to 6 rooms, then drew cards to see what rooms we got.  I then set the timer for 15 minutes and away we went.  Kale started in the kitchen which meant I had to get him started with the dishes, but he did great.  Tyler got the bedroom, and I got the hallway.  Next I got the dining room, Kale got his bedroom and Tyler got the bathroom.  The third time, I got the kitchen (Kale didn't finish it on the first round), Kale got the living room and I'm not sure what the heck Tyler got, but it worked out nice.  Nobody got bored, my house got tidier than its been in forever and everyone was quite proud of themselves.  Then we took an hour long break.  Sweet deal if you ask me, how many jobs give you an hour after only 45 minutes of work?  And then I went out and cleaned the dogs room while the boys finished up in the dining room and the kitchen.

AND THEN..... after Kale's friend went home tonight and Kali went to bed, Kale asked if we could do the card thing again!!!!!  Holy Hannah!  I wasn't sure I was really up to it, but hey, who am I to discourage the kid?  LOL.  So he did the dinner dishes, the bathroom and the hallway.  I did the dining room, my room and the living room.  Now he's happily playing baseball on the Wii and feeling like he totally earned it.  He totally did!  I'm so proud!

His sire is Go For Gin, dam is a no name mare with sketchy bloodlines, at best.  Actually, I've never had any plans to breed him, & while he's been with me, he has never bred.  He really is very well mannered for a stallion.

I kept him intact, because the show circuit that we were competing in runs from September through May, & I felt that it was very close to cruel to ask a horse to recover from surgery in the summer months here.  I also love his "fire" & was worried that gelding him may diminish some of that fire.  In the end, I feel that having him gelded, & re-trained is going to be the best thing to do with him.  If I were riding him, then it wouldn't be a big deal, but with somebody else on his back, I feel that he's too big of a risk.  The procedure went well, & he was in good spirits when I visited him this evening.

Paige, Happy Birthday!  Gracie, Happy Gotcha Day!   You both hit the jackpot when you found each other.
