    Mindless Chatter - Thurs

*yawn* It has been very hard to get to work this week. My sleeping is all messed up.

I need a hair cut badly

    I love my new siggy!

I must must must start to train the dogs individually again. Especially Abbie now that she's staying. Thankfully she has learned most of the house rules from the other dogs so I don't have to spend that much time on that. She needs to learn leave it, drop and stay right away though. And I have to re-train Lily on Wait inside the car so she's not jumping out as soon as the door opens.

I left all the dogs out last night because they were locked up while I was at work, then I had dinner at my brothers. Unfortunately, Abbie went to the bathroom on my bed. *shakes fist*. Thankfully, I have a spare bed that I can sleep in for a while!

I'm standing up in a wedding for my bestest bud tomorrow. She's very newly divorced (by less than 6 months) and is getting married already! I told her that as her friend, I had to say that I was worried. She says that it feels right. So, there you go....what can you do besides just support her?

I really don't want to always gripe here but dang what a morning!  DH wanted the alarm on at 6 than complained when it went off and shouted at Bugsy for doing his wake up Dad routine.

B & I had a great walk, we saw Peaches the lab pup we met while biking and Peaches wanted to come with us.  Peaches owner not smiling.  LOL then we got home and B found a giant cicada to play with very very funny.  Then mr. grumpy pants (DH) got ruffled when B decided to have an inside zoomie.  Lastly DH suggested putting our outdoor swing on the deck when the porch project is done.  This swing is ginormous so I said not sure it's probably too big - and off he went in another huff.  Whew wuz we glad to see him toddle off to work.  He is so moody. Bleh!

Julie I love your new sig too!  I need one of these pros to do me one!

Busy day ahead need to shake off DH's bad energy

    WIPE OUT!!!!!!!

Took Belle out on the bike yesterday she was NOT a good doggie. She was so not focused or paying ANY attention. She went around a telephone pole (bad idea Belle), not watching the bike at all. The worst though was nearing the end of our run, there was a couple walking a dog down the sidewalk. So I decided to move into the street that put me between Belle and the little dog, and I thought about "fast" as we went by. Oh Belle went fast alright...RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BIKE!!!! She flipped me right over! A#* over tea kettle! I landed right on the point of my left shoulder on the concrete! OUCH!!!!! Thank goodness I still had my jeans on from riding or my knee would probably be toast. I was so pissed at her! My bike was all messed up. The handle bar was askew, the chain came off. Fortunately the gentleman with the little dog was able to help me with my bike. I have not fallen off a bike in over 30 years! I don't really want to start.

I am ok, amazingly I am not more sore than I am. My shoulder has a scrape/bruise (good size one) the part that hurts the most but isn't bad is my left wrist and the heel of my thumb. Tomorrow may be another story. I forgave Belle by the time we went to bed. I said every one is entitled to a bad day. I am amazed how "un scathed" I came out of it.

Today Belle goes for a walk, and I will be "tougher" than usual with her, to make her realize the leash means "pay attention" I have a feeling I may not have to.

omg Ann, I had the exact same thing happen to me while bike riding with Dakota!!! Except that it wasn't Dakota who ran in front of the bike, it was another dog (loose in someone's yard) that charged in front of my bike trying to get to Dakota. I flipped right over the handle bars and landed on the pavement. The stupid lady with the dog denied all responsibility (she was even standing there watching the entire thing!!!) and said that I shouldn't have been biking with my dog. She didn't even ask if I was all right! I called AC on her and she lied and said that her dog never left her yard.

Whoo-hoo! I had to borrow $200 from Bank of Grandma on Monday, and I called her this morning to ask her how she wanted me to pay her back, and she said to keep it :) :) and buy school clothes. I love my grandma. She never comes to FL though - hopefully she'll come for Thanksgiving. I *love* Thanksgiving. Mostly because it's my birthday, too.

Karen, sorry your DH is such a grumpy-pants. I will share some of my good mood with you, OK? ~+~+~+~good mood to Karen+~+~+~+~+~

I made next week's schedule for work and it's so slow! In-home petsitting sucks when no one will leave their house!

Did gas go down a few cents for anyone? I saw $3.96 last night. I was excited until I realized that it's still only four cents away from $4.

    • Gold Top Dog

It's $3.88 here today. I'm not getting too excited though. I'm sure that it'll skyrocket to $4.50 in no time over some war in some country that doesn't exist.

Gas is down here, it was 4.39, now its 4.25. Woohoo.

    • Gold Top Dog

Ouch Max's Mom that sounds painful :o(

Gas at home is 3.89 and gas at work is 3.93.....sigh....

I got to sleep in an extra hour this AM b/c I stayed late yesterday and we aren't allowed to have OT right now.

Ouch Ann! But sorry, I had to laugh! Too bad somebody wasn't video taping, you could have won some $ from AFV. Big Smile

Gas dropped from $4.14 to $3.99 in one day earlier this week. Woo-hoo! (it's sad when you're excited about $4/gallon gas)

Gas prices seem to be the hot topic.....

It was $ 3.97 at a local station last night......yay.......

My friend just went to go feed her horse but no horse comes to greet her. Someone stole him. We both worried about him because he is more like a one owner dog than a horse. He is really bonded to my friend. I hope she finds him soon.

Just got a knock on the door and it was a neighbor asking if I have seen another neighbors dog. So another animal has been stolen around here. I tried to tell the owner that he needed to keep the dog, real pretty silver and black German Shepard, under lock and key. He wouldnt listen so now he has a missing dog.

Around here if your dog goes missing you dont get it back. And people wonder why I have my dogs under so much supervision. I had my heart dog taken out of the backyard 2 years ago while I was at my grandpa's bday party. She was in the kennel with Cheyanne and gone when I got home. All I found was Cheyanne running loose and Zoey's collar in the kennel. She was a mutt and someone still took her from me. I learned my lesson that day and now my dogs are in a secure locked house when I leave. I just hope whoever took her is taking great care of her.

I heard something funny on the news last night about the slight dip in gas prices.  The newscaster said that Bush was trying to take credit for that, but most people seem to think it's the result of less demand.  A lot of people have traded in their gas guzzlers for more fuel efficient cars, and more people are driving less and car pooling more - so the demand has gone down a bit.  Makes sense to me. Smile

gone for a few hours and wow it's been busy here!

Whew Ann I am so glad you are OK.  Belle I know you luvs to run but you have to PAY ATTENTION! I'm glad that guy was there to help.  I was a crazy kid so I have extreme falling off bike and landing safely skills - I am hopeful though that I have used them for the last time.

Thanks Pirate's Mom for the happy mood thoughts - greatly appreciated! Big Smile

Gas price is dropping pretty rapido here - saw one station $3.80 - oh yea!

My sting site is more normal sized today but hideous, less painful but ITCHY.  Bright red circle is about 4 inches across and pretty much my forearm from elbow to wrist is pink.  The sting site itself is a red scabby dot.  May I never get stung by this creature again Angry

Oh Ann I'm glad you're OK!  I bike with Kenya but I don't use an attachment and put the leash under my palm where I hold the handle bars, so it's not attached to me or the bike and if for whatever reason she pulls, I can let go.

I have a surprised job interview tomorrow morning and one coming up in about an hour....
