High Value Treats

Yep, mine love ice cubes too. We have an automatic ice cube maker with the door on the freezer and we're constantly grabbing a few ice cubes for the dogs. Sure can't beat the price

 I love the price of ice cubes :)  It's the only thing Ari actually begs for and will come running if she hears you open up the freezer (not the fridge JUST the freezer).  Cracks me up, and I make her work for them. 

 I wish I knew!  So far the closest I've come with Woobie is Ball Park Franks and those are hit and miss.  I'm working on clicker training him to LLW this month and I have about 8 packages of different treats people in my classes have recommended.  I also want to try a "food tube" and some liverwurst that someone else recommended and a block of Romano cheese is on my shopping list to try.  He's such a tough nut to crack, not really motivated by much when we're outside the house training, so it's been a constant challenge.

Ice cubes would be tough to carry in a treat pouch, huh?   

This is timely -- and I"m still cracking up.  On our way home with Tinkerbelle (see other threads) I had to bathe her for the demodex.  The first night I was trying SOOO hard not to freak her out -- and because we'd been on a plane so late I couldn't go to the store.  All I had for treats were Cheerios (remember I have no clue what she is/isn't allergic to yet).

 Tinkerbelle would tell you that Cheerios are nice -- ok to 'sit' for ... but ... HIGH VALUE TREATS????

 NOT!!!!!!

(I'm still cracking up -- that was one of the places her name became abundantly clear -- I got that Tinkerbelle scowl BIG TIME when i tried to give her a couple of Cheerios for standing still in her bath. 

To say she spit them back at me is ... an understatement! LOL

Now meat baby food?  YEP -- **that** is a high value treat.

 oh yeah, ice cubes are awesome! i dont train moca with treats, since she obsesses, instead of concentrating, but i still like giving her a treat here or there just because and it's hard, because she has a very sensitive stomac, so ice cubes are awesome!

the rule in my house is, if you're opening the freezer, the dogs MUST get ice cubes. this extends not only to me and my bf, but also to my friends...

 Blueberries.....yeah....I can't figure that out either LOL. 

Bwana Bars, the cookies I make get 100% attention from my furkids 24/7   I make them in Liver, Beef or Salmon and Turkey.   When showing my young male if there is a girl in season nearby food will not work but a carefully folded "  scented kleenix  tissue" will make him give expression alllllll day long !

Bonnie loves blueberrys too!  She also loves the cats treats, although she only gets one piece of those.  Other than that she is not into treats of any kind, have a whole cupboard full of different things.

I have yet to meet a dog who will turn their nose up to bacon fried crisp...

Joey doesn't get the thrill of ice cubes but cheese, now THAT's a high value treat.  And for a dog who is completely un-food motivated, that's saying something.

Emma has had everything she tolerates. Peanut butter, goat cheese, liver, bites of meat....

The *best* treat you can give her? Breakfast sausage. Unless we're in a very highly distracting situation, she works poorly when I use sausage for treats. She gets too excited. I use it, at dog shows, though, to hold her attention for warm ups. Once her attention is up and her attitude is up, the sausage has to go away. She's too funny.
