My Coke turns 2 today. Here is what I'm sending to his rescue...
To VPC and Coke's foster family,
I just wanted to send an update on Coke's (formerly Teddy) second birthday. I think it's cool we know his actual birthday! It's so easy for me to remember - 7.7.2006
We have nothing but good things to say about Coke. In December, he passed Intermediate Obedience. He is currently excelling in his Beginner Agility class. His self-control and recall (the latter being somewhat of a challenge for us) are steadily improving. He has made so many friends at the dog club. I don't think there is an aggressive hair on his body (and he has a LOT of hair!!).
Coke's motto is "simple minds, simple pleasures." He enjoys greeting the local pack of kids on his daily walk, rough-housing with his sister Kenya, performing squeaker-ectomies (gruesome removal of the squeaker from the stuffy toy), committing stufficide (methodical removal of each puff of stuffing from the stuffy toy), pestering cats, sticking his nose out the car window, treeing squirrels, and chasing balls.
Everywhere we go, people swoon over Coke's handsomeness and temperament. He is such a lover. So many people ask me what breed he is (and then ask what "mix" my purebred German Shepherd is). A little girl at Kenya's Schutzhund club wanted to enter Coke in a dog show and paraded him around the club all night. We have no idea what he is, but whatever it is he got the best of each breed!
Our goals for Coke include passing the CGC and possibly getting involved in therapy work if he ever slows down (well, he's already MY therapy dog!). Next month we are going on a two week vacation to a cottage where we will see if Coke has a future in recreational dock diving. :)
Thank you for letting us give Coke his second chance and for all the great work you do! Coke is my heart dog (and my VPC cat Posh is my heart kitty!). He is the perfect match for myself, my husband, and our other dog.

When it's really hot, Coke goes into his crate! I think the pan feels cool.
