    Poisoned Dogs, Raccoons and Squirrels.

I'm sure some people from Ontario have heard about it by now, but in case no one has, here is an update.

Several dogs from the GTA have been poisoned after consuming antifreeze at a local off leash dog park.  Approximately 6 dogs were originally treated for symptoms of poisoning, but sadly two of the dogs have now since died.  At first sources thought that a water fountain may have been the source, but antifreeze soaked bread has since been found; along with several dead raccoons and squirrels.  Two of the raccoons were intentionally posed after death, one with a bouquet of flowers in it's paws as a sick joke.

I posted this so possibly members who read this can take a moment to mourn the loss of the two dogs, but also as a reminder of how important safety is when using off leash dog parks.  It's sick how some people can do a crime like this on innocent animal.  My heart goes out to the families who's dogs are struggling through this sickness, and to the families who now are one less member; all because of a heartless and twisted act of cruelty.

This article is about the connection between the dog poisonings and the raccoon deaths:

It's stuff like that that makes you angry to be related, by way of human race, to such horrible, horrible creatures.

I hope that they like hot places.... cause I can only hope they'll be spending a long time there.

That is so creepy! What is wrong with people.

Just last week Primo came out of the bushes on a walk with a half a tri-tip. He didnt eat it, he just carried it over to me in his mouth but i had no idea how it got there. I made him drop it.....poor guy he was so proud. A tri-tip....I doubt it was poisened, that'd cost a lot of money to be throwing tri-tips around! LOL

That's really sad and really disappointing to be a human but can you really do? did you read one of the comments about some kids setting a dog on fire because they don't like dogs?

It's so sad and sick and makes me worry about the water bowls at the small, fenced in park we sometimes go to.  Also makes me not feel so bad about not letting my guys romp through the woods off-lead.  I worry about copy cats getting ideas.

What the heck would a tri-tip be doing in the bushes???  Good think he didn't eat it, but still.  Weird!

Don't most serial killers start out this way?  Abusing animals?  First  squirrels, then dogs - are people next on the list?  Somebody had better catch whoever is doing this ... fast.

Yes it is, it's actually quite well documented that this type of behavior has a tendency to escalate and serial killers/mass murderers get their start in this fashion.

Apparently it was a gardener in the park who was angry over the raccoon population

Although it did say that the dead raccoons were posed...
