    Gift Basket Ideas...

I know there are people on this forum that are way more creative than I am. For this bridal shower on Sunday, we decided to put together 1 - 2 gift baskets that we are going to raffle off with tickets, like a chinese auction. I am putting together a movie gift basket, and a lottery gift basket. For the Movie basket, I thought I would try to find one of those popcorn buckets with a lid so I can fit stuff on top, what else is good to stick in there, I know candy and maybe a few cans of some type of drink? Anything else that anyone can think of for a movie? Then for the Lottery basket, I figured I would just by $15 worth of scratch offs, but I wanted to put them in something other than a normal gift basket, but I'm having a hard time thinking of an idea to place them in. Any ideas will be much appreciated! Our spending limit is $15-$20 on each basket.

We usually do a lottery tree.  Just get a little tree or a branch and tape the tickets to the ends of the branches like leaves.  Or you could tie them with pieces of ribbon in the bridal colours.

Can you add a DVD to the movie basket?  10 000 BC just came out yesterday, it was good!  Or a coupon for a free movie rental from somewhere.  Throw in a couple bags of microwave popcorn, and maybe a gift certificate for a pizza or something.  (hint: you might approach a Dominoes or Pizza Hut to see if they could donate a free pizza for the occasion.  I know the Dominoes that my fiance manages donates tons of stuff like that.)

Good Idea for the lottery basket. I'll have to check out a little tree, I have white ribbon here, I can punch holes and decorate the tree with those!! I know Walmart has the $5.99 movie bin, maybe I can find a decent one in there so I dont go spending $20 just on a movie.

Thats where a movie rental could come in handy.  You can usually rent a movie for less than $5 and that way they can still get a new release.

regarding the movie basket, I would go to a popcorn aisle and get some flavored salts.  Some stores have caramel and/or chocolate flavoring or even cheese flavoring.  Sorry I have no ideas at the moment for the lottery ticket basket.

When I do a movie basket I always use a Blockbuster gift card, so they can get what they want.  Movie candies, microwave popcorn, soda...

I am the Gift Basket Queen  ( waving regally)  Go to a Dollar Tree they have good sized plastic buckets made to look like a carton of movie popcorn, buy asst candies and of course a box of microwave pop corn put some shreds in it giving it an overflowing look I use cellophane or shrink warp when I am done.  But that will push your budget , saran wrap will work  you spent about 5 dollars on the above and will have 15.00 left over to buy a gift card to blockbusters  have everyone write a movie title down they think the couple should see together.

The lottery is fun too, Buy an inexpensive champagne ( about 4.00 for Andre Brut or Grand Reserve )  Put it in a goft bag from the dollar storeAnd fan the tickets low acrossed the front and then higher  the back ,  but again presentation is everything so stuff notes from every one either saying what they would do if they won or giving them suggestions on what that money would do for them, travel, home, cars??? If you want to make it look sharp stick travel brochures , pictures of exotic cars or mansions  , some Jimmy Choos or ...... gourmet dinners.

My Baskets at the National specialties and School functions bring in top dollar , have been Community Relation's Director for Mc Donalds South San Diego taught me a lot !!
