Mindless Chatter - Hump day

I was up at 3:30 this morning. No, not because Willa was crying. I was picking up Rupert barf! Ugh. I don't know what made him sick. It was just food and a bit of grass. Then I couldn't get back to sleep, and once I finally did, Willa woke up hungry. Then Rupert puked again. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Well you can send the baby my way until Rupert gets better!! Samantha has been asking for a baby brother but I'm sure she will settle for a girl right now.

Not much going on here. Especially when I still have no car. How am I supposed to get Lillie started in agility if I dont have a car?!!!

Anyone want a flower killing kitten? Sassy is driving me bananas. She wont leave my flowers alone. She has done bent all the stem,leaves,chewed on them, and broken all my buds or the blooms. I have had to put cages around my flowers to keep her away from them.

I think I need to be looking for a good walking harness.  We were walking through the neighborhood this a.m. instead of the park and all of a sudden a squirrel ran across the street and up a tree, followed closely by a cat.  Of course Max decided he needed to get in on the squirrel/cat action too.  I really thought he was going to strangle himself with his own collar before I could get him turned around and heading back down the street.

 Yes, walking harnesses really come in handy. I was walking all 4 dogs last night when a bunny rabbit went hopping by. All 4 dogs tried to charge the rabbit but the harnesses kept them in check. If they had regular collars on I would have been on the ground and the rabbit would have been dead.

It doesn't seem quite so smoky here today. Hopefully the gym won't be as packed either, but I think I'll take an early lunch just to be safe.

It's not!  And did you notice that the outside temp at noon is 73?  It was really bad (smoky) in Fairfield yesterday, but that's close to one of the bigger fires.  I had no idea until I read last nights paper that there are over 800 fires in northern CA, most sparked by lightening strikes. They said on the news that we have firefighters from AZ and NV helping out.

Yes, it's actually nice and cool for a late June day here. I've seen the news about how stretched thin they are in terms of firefighters and equipment but DH says they haven't sent many from the city fire dept. and his friend that works for the county says the haven't sent many from there either. Maybe they're trying to hold off in case there are more fires nearby.

Would it really be that hard to pump water from the flooded areas in the US & truck them over to the fires in California?

No kidding! How come life isn't fair? We're in major drought conditions and other states are sandbagging to keep the water from washing away their homes? Couldn't those storms have dropped just a little bit of rain on the way to the mid-west?

I was supposed to be spending the day with DH, but he had to go in to the office this morning.  Then he went to the gallery for what was supposed to be a "quick stop in."   Three hours later, he arrived back home.  We did go for a run together.  Then we cooked dinner.  So much for spending quality time today...

 I have tons to do tomorrow.  I am not looking forward to going in to the office.  Luckily, I am taking off Friday.  I love short weeks.

Aww Jan - the "wonders" of being a new mom, and dog lover, eh?  You must be exhausted.  When I see the paparazzi pics of Nicole Ritchie and them commenting on how tired she looks just makes me laugh - that woman has far more advantages than most moms!

Sending sweet lullaby thoughts to your babies, and calm tummy to Rupey, especially.  Hope you get some rest tonight!
